ICM Issues Management and Governance - VP (Hybrid)
Citi continues to enhance its business control and governance framework by building out Institutional Credit Management (ICM), a new business unit in the 1st Line of Defense, to house and consistently manage Credit Risk activities performed across its Institutional Client Group (ICG) organization.
ICM was established with the objective to provide an integrated “end-to-end” credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management and monitoring for wholesale credit businesses across the enterprise.
The ICM Governance and Issue Management team sits within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) under Business Risk and Controls of ICM. The team supports ICM’s activities related to Corporate Governance including Governance Committees and management forums and governance, oversight, and administration of ICM’s Issue Management activities.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to the requirements and principles to implement a comprehensive, transparent and globally consistent governance framework to oversee and govern ICM’s risks and controls
- Provide oversight, governance, and monitoring of ICM IM program to drive adherence to and compliance with ICG and Citi IM framework and requirements
- Collaborate with partners across ICM and ICG to embed a “culture of self-identification of Issues” including through experiential learning, global training / socialization and communications across ICM
- Produce and deliver monthly and quarterly reporting and insights on IM program performance and Management Business Reviews to ICM senior executives and leaders
- Analysis, monitoring, and reporting ICM’s performance on Citi Executive Scorecard metrics
- Develop method to collect YTD ICM accomplishments demonstrating towards Performance Assessment Pillars in the Executive Scorecard
- Create and lead ICM-wide info shares and communications to raise awareness and knowledge of IM processes, lifecycle, platform and enhancements
- Identify ICM’s opportunities for efficient and enhanced IM reporting/processes to improve Executive Scorecard Metrics and ICM’s ability to effectively manage Issues (i.e., thematic reviews, trend reporting, QC improvements)
- Build relationships with the various Governance and Issues Management partners across the ICG and Wholesale Credit
Qualifications:
- 6+ years relevant work experience in Business Risk & Controls
- Proven Risk and Controls experience and Issue Management coordination experience in the financial services industry or other large corporations.
- Strong working knowledge of the principles of credit, market, liquidity, strategic, operational and compliance, and / or reputational risks
- Experience in building out and managing end-to-end process flows
- Able to assess and synthesize issues
- Understanding of controls frameworks
- Experience in interacting across 1st, 2nd and 3rd line of defense teams
- Able to define the agenda and material for senior stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization and across different geographic locations
- A proactive and “no surprises” approach in communicating issues
- Range of experience demonstrating flexibility in skillset and approach
- High proficiency in MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
