Job Description Summary:

Citi’s Payments and Receivables business is one of the largest movers of money in the world for large corporations, financial institutions and governments, maintaining one of the largest proprietary global financial infrastructures and facilitates approximately $4 trillion of flows daily.

The role is a Senior Leadership position, reporting into Global TTS Payment-Receivables Client Operations Head, and will work with Product, Technology & ICG Partners both in region & globally to execute against key strategic objectives for the Payment – Receivables business.

This role provides managerial oversight in a Payment & Receivables Operations unit that supports cash management processing and payment execution for Citi branches in South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean region, with over $750MM transactions per year, direct expense budget $35MM and 800+ extended workforce.

The P&R Operations Head directs the day-to-day operations of the transaction processing function for the LATMEX region. In this managerial role, this role is a key strategist responsible for identifying, defining, and formulating new Operations strategy, efficiencies in procedures, and for enhancing payments processing operations. It also manages the development and implementation of operational models and effective controls that deliver efficient, high quality processing solutions within the allocated financial plan.

In addition, the role will also act as the Global Receivable Operations Head, supporting critical strategic execution across P&R global functions. Focus of this responsibility will be in driving strategic evolution of the Global Receivables Ops landscape, delivering enhanced efficiency across geographies & working closely with respective business partners to support new product roll outs.

The role requires thorough understanding of the strategic direction of the P&R Business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to support the Centralized Operations’ vision and direction from the Citi Service Center (CSC) perspective

  • Manage directors, or a large team of senior professionals who support multiple businesses and/or partners and ensure increased operating efficiency

  • Provide strategic direction in running a best practices Operations Center, and daily oversight of individual managers in multiple major processes

  • Oversee the creation of a pristine control and error-free operating environment

  • Review of financial performance across respective countries, ensuring direct expense plan is met annually, with early identification of risks & focus on efficiency generation

  • Execute and oversee the implementation of standard global platforms, ensuring comprehensive operational readiness plans in place and any potential gaps identified and escalated accordingly

  • Manage, oversee, and conduct performance reviews for his team by setting performance goals

  • Enhance the client experience by addressing service issues identified or escalated by clients

  • Manage medium to long-term planning for transaction services area, and strategic initiatives impacting the quality of the business

  • Develop a vibrant talent pool and pipeline, ensuring skill sets and competencies align to the current and future organizational requirements

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Financial professional with 15+ years’ experience in the financial Industry
  • Thorough understanding of complex P&R products and services
  • Proven ability to manage teams at all levels (performance management, career development, process improvement, etc.)
  • Communication/presentation expertise with ability to present to senior leaders
  • The role requires thoughtful and progressive leadership with an ability to communicate effectively and constructively at all levels. Ability to prioritize multiple complex issues simultaneously
  • Strategic thinking and planning and problem-solving skills - significant time will be dedicated to forging strategic alliances, cultivating relationships and contributing value to business reviews.
  • Outstanding relationship skills - ability to partner and work collaboratively with all groups, developing productive and trusted relationships, and advisory with business leaders and with TTS Global team colleagues both regionally and globally. Able to influence at all levels without formal reporting lines

  • Analysis and decision making – strong data driven skills, able to identify and understand the primary issues, problems and opportunities and develop appropriate solutions.

  • Self-starter - positive, energetic, and able to prioritize appropriately and act decisively. Recognized as a Change leader and ability to work remotely in a team environment

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Masters degree preferred
