The Workforce Management team is responsible to lead Citi’s transformation efforts around staffing and skill adequacy and organizational design.

It is an exciting time to join our Workforce Management Team as we are a newly formed team, we are still in a building phrase of developing the set of capabilities, processes and tools to analyze, forecast and plan for the future of the workforce. We are a global team with highly motivated colleagues who wants to ensure Citi has the right people, with the right skills, at the right place and time and the right cost.

This role reports into the Head of Strategy and Programs, HR Workforce Management. The Strategy Effectiveness Lead will develop, manage and strengthen the execution of the Workforce Management vision and strategy by engaging teams inside and out of HR function in change initiatives - including communications/engagement, change management programs, culture building and capability building programs.

This role is responsible for but not limited to leading workforce planning, organization design, operating model, organization health governance, finance budget planning and expense management, people strategy initiatives, internal communications, monthly operating reviews, third party management and invoice payment process. This role is ideal for a self-driven leader who is passionate about driving innovative practices to continuously improve planning, governance, monitoring, engagement and collaboration within the organization. This role will partner closely with Workforce Management leadership team to achieve organization objectives.

The Strategy Effectiveness Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Excellent executive level presentation writing.  Full management responsibility of a team, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a Business Operations & Business Analysts professionals who support key initiatives within the workforce management organization.
  • Develops strategic direction for Strategy Effectiveness function. Accountable for budget, policy formulation and planning.
  • Resolves complex and highly variable issues with substantial potential impact.
  • Applies comprehensive understanding of Business Operations & Business Analysts concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area. Directs subordinates' performance and makes recommendations for pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within the overall function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources.
  • Accountable for end results. Utilizes excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at senior levels (across functions); may communicate with external parties.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years relevant experience in Business Planning & Analysis and Operations Management functions
  • Significant experience in developing and executing communications/engagement. change management programs, culture building, capability building within large organizations including communication plans, behavior change strategies, employee engagement and talent development
  • Exception communication capabilities both verbal and written, including horizontal and vertical logic and executive presentations
  • Ability to think out of the box to bring new ideas and concepts
  • Ability to negotiate and influence peer and management decisions
  • Familiarity with employee satisfaction survey and action planning to drive desired outcomes
  • Strong Project Management experience, organizational capability and the ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Consistently detail oriented, goal oriented, and drive results
  • Consistently demonstrate flexibility, resourcefulness and ability to work as a team in complex environments (e.g., ambiguous, fast moving, multiple concurrent activities with short term deadlines and change priorities)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
