The Controllers Transformation organization establishes the global end to end process strategy across legal entity, business and geographic dimensions based on industry trends and increasing requirements.  Leading continuous transformation by integrating and standardizing well-controlled, sustainable processes, leveraging strategic applications, emerging technologies and supported by a robust governance structure that minimizes risk and drives value.

As part of the Controllers Transformation group, the Financial Books & Records (FB&R) team is responsible for the design and implementation of global integrated and standard books and records governance, process ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely closing of Citi’s financial Books & records which forms the basis of Citi’s externally disclosed results, and internal financial and management reporting.

The Ledger Standardization Lead Analyst will help drive the definition and implementation of ledger standards across Citi’s Books and Records infrastructure. This is critical to leading Citi’s Finance Transformation priorities and Consent Order deliverables as it relates to Ledger Standardization.

The role will work with key stakeholders across Finance, Finance Risk Shared Services (FRSS), Global Finance Technology (GFT) and other disciplines to drive standardization and consistent usage of standards, hierarchies and process functionality across Citi’s Books and Records infrastructure (Ledgers and Pearl).  The role will also provide ledger standard oversight and responsible for implementing a Ledger Standard Policy, key metrics, report-outs and dashboards.

Knowledge of Finance standards, hierarchies and systems is required as well as other Finance and Risk specific data standards such as FRS BU, FDL, GOC is expected.


  • Assists in setting business and information architecture standards for Finance related to the Chart of Accounts for the Strategic Ledger
  • Evaluate key components of Citi’s Ledger Code Block
  • Ensure the usage of consistent ledger standards and hierarchies across Finance for books and records, infrastructure, and reporting
  • Develop a Ledger Standards Policy for Finance
  • Develop and implement a governance process and controls to monitor ledger standard compliance including key metrics and dashboards
  • Partner closely with Corporate Reporting, Controllers, Technology, Accounting Policy, Treasury, Tax, Operations, GPOs and FRSS
  • Participates in formulating and setting strategic direction for the process, organization and architecture covering Finance across Citi businesses, products, functions, and locations
  • Acts as a technical expert who acts as an advisor on significant business/product decisions
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision

The Role Requires:

  • Strong accounting skills and an understanding of accounting policy in accordance with US GAAP
  • An understanding of Finance infrastructure, data standards and financial products  
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, active listening) required, ability to synthesize key messages and influence others
  • Strong analytical skills, acting as an expert or advisor on accounting and recording matters


  • Bachelors’ degree in Finance or Accounting / MBA preferred
  • Strong background in one or more areas of Finance preferred
  • Strong understanding of Citi Finance infrastructure
  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience in Accounting and Project/Program Management in the financial services industry is preferred
  • Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in absence of detailed instructions
  • Process reengineering and change management preferred
  • Program/project management or PMO experience in using a structured methodology to successfully track, plan, monitor and report on concurrent, multiple projects
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products

We are currently working on a hybrid schedule consisting of 2-3 days in office and the remainder remote (specific details depend on location and business group). This is not a remote only role.

Salary Ranges for Multiple Locations:

Getzville: $97,470-$146,210

Tampa: $110,090-$165,130
