Responsibilities
The Senior Engineering Manager under Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group within Treasury, Tax and Forecasting Technology (TTF) is a senior management position responsible for FP&A roadmap and delivery of automation efforts to realize significant saves for the organization. Responsibilities include developing technology roadmaps with senior business leads, spearheading delivery of multiple Consent Order workstreams as part of Forecasting Infrastructure Buildout, automation of financial methodologies, provide direction to implement mathematical models for RWA, FX Variances, Constant $, NII, ROTCE, EBT, ROA and other calculations as part of generating Citi's financial reports.
This role will also supervise implementation of AI/ML based projects in the FP&A domain to improve transparency, accuracy, timeliness, and scale of calculation metrics in Corporate FP&A Reporting and Regional FP&A reporting space, interface with senior FP&A leadership to define and solution automation strategy in this area, manage related applications in scope and execute on delivery of all associated initiative programs to accomplish above objectives.
This is a Senior Technology role with direct impact to ALCO committee, Citi PNL oversight, GRM, Regional CFO teams and Expense Management. At the same time, this is also an extremely hands-on role who can lead a team of smart developers. Candidates with solid programming & Computer Science background in multiple technologies, AI frameworks, Data Structures & Algorithms, Data Modeling and Databases such as Knime, Oracle, MongoDB would be preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Lead team to implement software for financial methodologies and calculation models, using combination of AI/ML algorithms, database technologies and analytics frameworks.
- Dissect complex business processes and provide tech design-leadership
- Apply Data Mart and Data Warehousing design concepts to create scalable analytical solutions and Financial Metrics Data Models
- Understand and enable execution of the technology strategy and objectives in alignment with broader organizational goals and communicates the same to key stakeholders
- Accountable for technical decisions regarding software, infrastructure, and platforms used to deliver solutions
- Lead the Engineering team to manage development and execution of product and makes go/no-go decisions for production deployment of completed work
- Collaborate with team, Solution Architects, Product Managers, and Program Managers to provide input into design, prioritization, and lead the engineering work in planning, designing, and delivery of new products and projects
- Advocate for engineering excellence and provide engineers with opportunities to continuously develop knowledge, skills, and exposure to tools & techniques
- Responsible for managing technical performance metrics / KPIs, researching and resolving issues to provide recommendations, and escalate to senior management as needed
- Develop detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- 10+ years of managerial experience
- 8+ years proven IT experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) domain and solid understanding of Key Financial calculation methodologies
- 5+ years proven IT experience in Regulatory and Management Reporting & Analytics solutions
- 5+ years experience with Programming skills & background in Java, J2EE, Data Analytics, Tableau, Knime, Essbase, Angular JS, Kore.ai, Oracle, Appian, Spark, Python, Scala
- Highly hands-on, detail-oriented, and complex problem-solving skills required
- Mandatory experience in development and delivery of (AI/ML) solutions; Developing predictive financial models using ML algorithms.
- Mandatory experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) based implementations using Kore.AI and other AI frameworks. Experience in Generative AI & LLM (Large Language Models) preferred
- Experience with Cloud-Based solutions, AWS Cloud and Snowflake.
- Demonstrates thought-leadership, initiative, independence, and willingness to learn complex concepts.
- Working knowledge of the industry and competitors’ products and services
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience (Masters is a plus)
