Operational Risk Analyst (Hybrid)
Operational Risk Management’s (ORM) mission is to design, maintain and embed a framework that enables Citi to effectively identify, measure, monitor and manage Operational Risk within appetite. To create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks, and to drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses and other adverse events. The objective is to reduce operational losses for Citi through preventive actions and solutions to effectively manage and mitigate significant operational risks and vulnerabilities that may arise within systems and technology processes.
This Operational Risk Analyst role is a strategic professional responsible of identifying, developing Strategic solutions, and automating manual processes in ORM Chief Administrative Office space. Also, Monitoring and Reporting Head Count, Location Strategy, and Open Requisitions. Responsible of coordinating and collecting key information for monitoring and metrics reporting of MCA, Self-Identified issue Management, COB, Resolution Planning, and Capacity Planning. The position requires a strong balance of quantitative skills, an ability to understand the practical business context, and written and oral communication skills. We value domain experience but are most focused on candidates with a strong underlying skill set who can learn quickly and advance in responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and automate metrics for management reporting and escalations using Excel Dashboard, SharePoint, Tableau, Jira or other appropriate tools.
- Analyze complex data, prepare, and present reporting.
- Coordinate and collect key information for reporting of Self-Identified issues, Capacity Planning and MCA.
- To be the designated BRC for the ORM CoB Plan
- Ability to understand and translate the ORM related data and covert into relevant metrics and KPI.
- Knowledge of risk management concepts and principles, processes, and controls necessary to execute such a program.
- Ability to creatively set and manage multiple deadlines among various internal stakeholders.
- ORM’s MCA and related processes including timely, effective, and value-added reviews of ORM’s controls.
Skills:
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skill
- Quick learner with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to work with counterparts in various areas in the organization.
- Experience in Risk Management preferred.
- Experience in process controls and process automation.
- Ability/experience to understand requirements and translate them to tangible process steps and action for tool developers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to synthesize key messages to describe processes and controls for non-technical audiences. Communication and presentation skills to peers and upper management.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent follow-up and strong attention to detail
- Ability to address and resolve conflict while maintaining relationships, both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to operate with limited level of supervision and can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Expert in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and SharePoint development.
- Expert in Analytical tool Tableau.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years relevant experience
- Knowledgeable about current and emerging trends.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. experience with complex judgments and solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
