The Institutional Credit Management (ICM) group is looking for a full-time lead/senior analyst to join its Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) function. ICM has been established with the objective to provide an integrated “end-to-end” credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management and monitoring for wholesale credit businesses across the enterprise. The group is responsible for extensive partnering across all relevant businesses within ICG and Independent Risk to drive key initiatives and associated deliverables for the data strategy and manage change with the right governance framework.  The function and role spans the counterparty credit risk group within the ICG organization and, as a result, requires strong engagement with relevant teams.

The Specialized Analytics Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Incumbents work with large and complex data sets (both internal and external data) to evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of business strategies
  • Identifies and compiles data sets using a variety of tools (e.g. SQL, Access) to help predict, improve, and measure the success of key business to business outcomes
  • Responsible for documenting data requirements, data collection / processing / cleaning, and exploratory data analysis; which may include utilizing statistical models / algorithms and data visualization techniques
  • Incumbents in this role may often be referred to as Data Scientist
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Must have the ability to retrieve and manipulation data
  • Advanced analytic ability and problem solving skills to proactively address business questions with innovative data driven solutions
  • Ability to build partnerships with cross-functional teams in order
  • Working experience in a quantitative field, Financial/Credit Card industry
  • Willing to learn and can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized, detail oriented, flexible and adaptive to matrix work environment


Education:

  • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience

Additional Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in data visualization and scripting/programming languages (Python, R, SQL, VBA scripting or other like programming languages is desired)
  • Experience working with visualizing tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Pivots/Advanced Excel
  • Data and Results oriented with an excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with complex data sets and distill issues and patterns from seemingly disparate data sets
  • Critical and lateral thinker with ability to formulate overall picture while diving in-depth details of data points and issues
  • Fast learner with strong problem solving and quantitative skillset
  • Highly motivated self-starter with roll-up sleeves attitude to get things done
  • Experience in interacting across multiple teams
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple competing priorities while delivering results quickly and efficiently.
  • Exceptional level of motivation and diligence coupled with excellent communication skills (verbal and written), as well as strong relationship building skills
  • Highly analytical individual with the ability to work independently and as a team player needed and exemplary documentation skills
  • Ability to focus on high quality work while under pressure
