The Enterprise Citi Data Office (ECDO) data governance strategy for the firm’s data and the adoption of consistent standards and capabilities. 

Situated within the Enterprise Citi Data Office (ECDO), the Data Use and Data Privacy leads partner with Business, Regional, and Global Function leaders to:

  • effectively and efficiently manage data that is subject to Privacy obligations globally
  • ensure appropriate use of client and internal data
  • identify and manage data risk and remediation/mitigation activity

Within this context, the Privacy & Use leads work in close partnership with

Reporting Line:  Global Head, Data Usage and Data Privacy


The Privacy & Use Lead will partner with the appropriate Function Leaders to identify and deliver initiatives to manage the quality and integrity of data to ensure that it can be relied upon, is accurate and complete, including:

  • Ensuring that data that is subject to privacy requirements has documented purpose and lineage in line with the Data Operating Model framework
  • Identifying and governing the sharing and use of data with third parties and across business/geographic lines, as well as the use of third party data by these Functions
  • Defining and agreeing data quality rules related to data privacy
  • Monitoring the ongoing control oversight and issue remediation activities
  • Development of tools, processes and controls to enable the efficient oversight of data privacy and usage initiatives
  • Develop guidelines & standards to support privacy requirements, aligning with relevant enterprise policies
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant industry and regulatory developments
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of the data privacy and usage risk management framework, including identification and monitoring of key risk and performance indicators


  • A strong understanding of Privacy laws and regulations and industry best practices is necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business
  • Coordinate and drive presentations to all audiences
  • Ensure we have a diverse team and a positive culture of inclusion


  • 6-10 years of experience
  • Previous experience in a risk management or compliance role preferred
  • Requires a solid conceptual/ practical grounding in Enterprise Chief Data Office frameworks and methodologies
  • Proven ability to execute complex change
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills; Proven ability to communicate effectively, drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels
  • Proven ability to act independently, work quickly and with careful attention to detail, juggle multiple priorities and thrive in a varied, fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to lead across a large, global financial firm
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills; sound judgment and demonstrated leadership skills


  • Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
