CSIS Project Manager NAM
As a Security Project Manager within the security function, you will play a pivotal role in the development of the security program and become an advocate for our department while interacting with multiple businesses across the enterprise. This role will tap into your subject matter expertise, whether that is project management, budgeting, vendor management, security technology, and physical security and safety. You will continue to hone your skills in establishing strong partnerships, mentoring, motivating, and managing high performing teams. Among your duties are;
- Manage the assigned Book of Work of projects in your area of responsibility using accepted principles of project management.
- Participate in the drafting of security budgets for projects in the form of Rough Order of Magnitude costs (ROM), formulate Bills of Material (BOM), and Initiative Expenditure Proposals (IEP).
- Liaise with project stakeholders concerning project details and deliverables.
- Guide your team to manage project tasks and deliverables by tracking and reporting project progress using available software project tracking tools.
- Be knowledgeable of CSIS global, regional, and local security protocols, operations or guidelines and apply them at each project.
- Manage multiple vender relationships and vendor performance in projects.
- Maintain, and find ways to improve, current security project management policies and procedures.
- Keep abreast of security industry standards, technologies, and systems.
- Represent CSIS in various global and regional technology and project management committees and working groups.
- Collaborate with peers, leadership teams and Industry contacts to understand burgeoning risk trends in the field.
- Integrate concept of “Continuous Improvement” into management activities and communicate same to direct reports
- Clearly and concisely brief management on ongoing major security projects and do so in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor's Degree (US only)
- Experience in managing complex projects that have regional consequences (criminal, regulatory, or risk)
- Demonstrated a knowledge of project management and the use of PM software tools
- Demonstrated a good working knowledge of security systems and principles of network technology.
- Experience in managing multiple vender relationships and vendor performance in projects.
- Experience in the drafting of project budgets in the form of Rough Order of Magnitude costs (ROM), formulate Bills of Material (BOM), and Initiative Expenditure Proposals (IEP).
- Demonstrated understanding of risk management and innovatively develops solutions and makes suggestions to senior management to mitigate risks through projects and technology.
- Participated in critical resource evaluations of staff to raise operational effectiveness and efficiency
- Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
Education and Experience Preferred
- Graduate degree or Project Management Certifications (i.e PMP, CAPM, CSPM)
- 4+ years managing projects and working with security technology
- 4+ years managing a team of project or security professionals, security program or resources
- 8+ years relevant experience in a private/public sector security environment
- Experience working in a corporate or financial services security team
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required
- Knowledge of the use of project management tools (i.e. Microsoft Project, SharePoint, etc..)
- Ability to manage security projects that have global/regional/facility or site consequences.
- A knowledge of the security industry, risks and trends.
- A deep understanding of Security operations, processes and controls
- Excellent communication, personal and leadership skills
- Excellent data evaluation skills to review project results and provide reports of outcomes
- Ability to network within the public and private sector (e.g., Local law enforcement)
- Ability to think quickly and make informed decisions
- Handles conflict effectively, by overcoming differences of opinion and finding common ground
- Ability to learn new technology systems and programs

- Conversational fluency in the Spanish language

- Flexibility to work on call off hours consistent with time zone shifts
