In view of heightened expectations from regulators and to ensure a strong & consistent global control environment, the Markets business is enhancing the In-Business Risk & Controls team. This role is reporting to the Senior Vice President in Markets Risk and Controls supporting Financial Institutions Sales and Solutions. The role will work with global teams across Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, as well as Legal, Compliance, Finance and Risk Management to build a consistent controls framework and governance structure within Citi Markets Sales teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and delivery of consistent controls across businesses to ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements and consent orders.

  • Support the interaction with Audit, Compliance, Risk and other Control groups to drive forward control enhancement initiatives and investigate control failures.

  • Lead the monitoring and analysis of these controls and deliver Management reporting.

  • Centrally lead / coordinate regulatory inventory mapping to ensure that the necessary controls are in place to support regulatory obligations / rules.

  • Manage the appropriate assessment of risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Keep Management aware of the risk and control environment of the Business through continuous and open communication, prepare for Risk and Controls Committee / forums and follow-up on issues, concerns and corrective action plans to effective closure.

  • Support delivery of projects / programs in line with the overall Risk & Control transformation portfolio.

  • Identify, prioritize, and proactively manage dependencies, risks, exceptions, and issues.

  • Support updates to and maintenance of the Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) in compliance with the Citi Operational Risk Policy.

  • Support interaction with Internal Audit, Regulators and specific exams.

  • Identify and deliver the implementation of process improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise and hands-on practitioner expertise in implementing structured business/operational processes and associated business requirements documentation and the key control related themes in the Capital Markets sector.

  • Experience in managing Audit, Compliance, Risk and Regulatory Interactions

  • Experience in Capital Markets sector (Front Office, Compliance, Audit, Risk, Middle Office)

  • Experience in Operational Risk Management, Audit, Compliance, or other control function preferred.

  • Experience in Project Management required including demonstrable experience of supporting delivery of projects / programs including the ability to create and manage project plans, identify and track issues, risks and changes, develop status reports and communicate to stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills required in order to bring teams to consensus on way forward. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas.

  • Advanced data analytics, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Global mindset, with regional/product understanding.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Motivated individual with ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple activities and ability to pivot based on current priorities.

  • Collaborative and proactive 'can-do' mindset; adaptive, eager to learn and develop.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
