Responsibilities
The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the delivery of key in-house developed data governance tools.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of technology and data governance best practices to deliver relevant technology solutions to business users on time and within budget.
- Design, architect and deliver core services in the Data Governance platform including search, entitlement, CRUD UI, data persistence, workflow, and API integration.
- Drive the design and development of system architecture and work closely with other technology teams to forge tighter integration in the Data Governance space.
- Improve scalability and resiliency of all of the data governance tools.
- Ensure change is managed with appropriate controls, documentation, and approvals including implementation of new and revised regulatory requirements
- Manage multiple global teams of technical professionals and provide technical and architectural oversight.
- Exercise control over resources, budget management, and release planning
- Ensure essential Citi procedures and compliance issues are followed and fully managed.
- Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership, management, and development skills
- 10+ years of relevant full stack experience including Java, Angular, NodeJS, Oracle SQL/PL-SQL, Spring/Spring-Boot
- Proven hands-on experience developing and architecting loosely-coupled micro-services systems in an OpenShift container environment
- 5+ years prior experience in application architecture and acting as a technical delivery lead.
- 3+ years prior experience with Agile development is a must
- Experience with messaging middleware including JMS, MQ, and Kafka
- Experience with CI/CD, Test Driven Development, DevOps, BitBucket, code branching and merging
- Experience in people management – especially in building highly effective global teams
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in explaining complex technical concepts to senior management
Desired Additional Skills:
- Experience in data governance tools including products like Collibra
- Experience in data management best practices including DMBOK
- Experience in data modeling including ER diagrams, UML, and tools such as Erwin and Magic Draw
- Cloud technologies including AWS, Snowflake, Dynamo
- Financial / Banking experience
- Passion for learning new technologies and excitement about data governance
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree would be a plus
