Strategic Intent:

  • Citibank is seeking a team leader for Associate Wealth Specialists. The role involves providing subject matter expertise  to Associate Wealth Specialists, and in supporting Wealth Specialists and the broader team with advice services
  • Another significant component of this role includes working with the Head of Advice to formulate and deliver the Advice strategy in Australia. Part of this strategy requires establishment and development of internal and external partnerships to implement an end to end advice proposition for Citi Australia. The role will also be responsible for providing expert strategic technical advice and administrative support to key internal stakeholders, Relationship Managers, Citigold Executives and Wealth Specialists

Key Accountabilities will include:

Strategic Input:

  • Ensure that all plans are completed in a timely, accurate and compliant manner, following the standard steps of the planning process, keeping in line with internal rules and regulations
  • Ensure the development of plans incorporate the collection/assessment of data, identification of client’s goals, identification of financial problems and the preparation of written alternatives & recommendations
  • Ensure that the advice delivery process is efficient and effective.
  • Work with key stakeholders including product management, investment specialists and Wealth Management network to provide relevant input into wealth offering
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of advice documentation for personal and general advice process
  • Be abreast with the latest advisory tools and technology

Team Leadership:

  • Lead a team of Associate Wealth Specialists, supporting wealth specialists and broader team with advice services
  • Ensure the quality of advice documents provided to the Wealth and Insurance Specialists is in line with compliance, quality standards, internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Manage the quality andefficiency, ofplan generation for wealth specialists and Insurance specialists

Training and Development:

  • Monitor team and personal adherence to the compliance framework, ensuring all Paraplanning processes, procedures are documented and maintained
  • Work with the Advice team and other key stakeholders to coach frontline staff to effectively identify potential client needs and advice requirements.
  • Coaching, mentoring and ensuring continued professional development of self and team


  • Build a strong, collaborative working relationship with key internal stakeholders such as Wealth Specialists; Insurance specialists and Area Managers, Citigold Executives, Relationship Managers Mortgage Specialists, Product teams, Region, and Compliance and Legal
  • Ensure that the advice delivery process is efficient and effective


To be successful in this role you will have the following skills/experience:


  • Degree qualified
  • Diploma of Financial Planning is essential
  • RG 146 qualified
  • CFP desirable
  • Post graduate studies in finance related discipline desirable


  • Minimum 5 years’ financial services industry experience
  • Experience in Parra planning and process improvement in complex advice environment
  • Good understanding of industry legislative and compliance regime around advice in the local Australian market is essential
  • Proven relationship management and coaching skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
