Manager - Business Unit Manager

Locations: Sydney, New South Wales Job Function: Compliance and Control Employee Status: Regular Job ID: 20210969

The strategic intent of this role is to develop, maintain, and drive continuous improvements in the overall control framework across Citi's Cards, Consumer Lending and Diners Club businesses.

This role will be part of a broader strategy and controls team, with the chance to work on identifying and solving critical business opportunities and problems. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated the ability to think strategically and have strong problem-solving skills, and who are excited about the opportunity to identify and solve challenges. A controls background is an asset, but not required for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Formulating strategies to drive performance and improvement to ensure high control levels are met
  • Ongoing analysis of control breakdowns, processes and activities required to ensure delivery of control commitments
  • Participating in the wider controls governance framework across Citi's Global Consumer Group
  • Providing ad hoc analysis/reporting support in the team
  • Identifying control gaps and optimize processes
  • Reviewing processes and activities to identify key contributors to control failures and overall risk management
  • Driving profitable and sustainable growth through implementation and management of an effective controls framework

Scope includes:

  • Controls and MCA Governance
  • Process and Activity Governance
  • CAATTS management
  • CAPS and BI management

Key Competencies:

  • 3+ years of experience in financial or professional services industry
  • Tertiary degree and/or professional qualifications preferred but not required
  • Experiences in controls / compliance / audit methodologies and preferably in consumer banking products, especially Credit Cards
  • Strong business acumen, need to understand the business model and ability to understand the potential impact of change
  • Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to be focused on what is important and delivering on goals / objectives
  • Strong analytical / problem solving / communication skills
  • Strong leadership / relationship skills to work effectively with cross functional teams
