Head of Banking and Wealth Management Distribution

A brand new opportunity has arisen within our Retail Bank. This is a pivotal role for the success of the franchise and you will be responsible for the sales and distribution of all Citi Australia’s retail banking and wealth management products, delivering the best outcomes for Citi’s valued clients. In addition you will lead a large and varied team, therefore we are looking for someone with passion and drive to excel in this role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, communicate  and execute a sound Wealth Management strategy that delivers a clear and compelling value proposition to Citi’s valued Wealth Management clients and aligns with Citi’s purpose and broader strategic goals
  • Identify synergies or common opportunities/issues across Sales Channels based on analysis and feedback gathered and formulate a strategic plan to address these
  • Establish and communicate clear  goals for each sales channel to align with broader sales goals, ensuring that these are frequently reviewed and revised as appropriate to cope with environmental changes
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships with Channel Heads and other key stakeholders to identify opportunities and manage and resolve issues or problems early
  • Provide advice and thought leadership to relevant Product Heads on sales strategy for specific products (e.g. relevant sales channels, structure of sales teams, customers to target, marketing approach etc.)
  • Responsible for the leadership, engagement, performance and culture across multiple teams from wealth management sales team, relationship manager, mortgage BDMs and Investment Specialists.
  • Drive strong Collaboration across the full GCB value chain to deliver P&L and balance sheet targets across the following products - Deposits, Mortgages, Investments, FX
  • Create the right conditions and opportunities for employees to deliver strong performance across all the Sales Channels and identify and address any performance gaps early
  • Maintain a strong focus on driving continuous improvement and operational efficiencies across the business


  • Advanced expertise in financial advice, portfolio analysis and related wealth management techniques
  • In-depth and detailed knowledge of financial products – fixed income, equities, derivatives and structured products (all asset classes), foreign exchange (cash and derivatives), Australian managed funds and wrap platforms
  • Australian wealth management and financial advice regulation
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian banking, wealth management, and private banking industries including: wealth management products, suppliers as well as industry structure, economics and dynamics
  • Solid understanding of capital markets
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Strong and proven leader with a successful track record in leading large, multi-disciplinary teams
