Financial Planning Senior Group Manager

AU/NZ Country Head (and GCB Head) of Financial Planning and Analysis

Strategic Intent
•    Lead the creation and delivery of the consolidated country annual budget / reforecast / outlooks and strategic plans for Australia & New Zealand (AU & NZ) including financial analysis as well as setting objectives & targets aligned with country, Asia regional and global directives;
•    Provide in-depth analysis and commentary of consolidated Consumer Bank financial performance throughout Pre-month end and Actual closing process, provide oversight of  ICG analysis & commentary and coordinate any  country/Asia regional reporting business reviews;
•    Manage the development of financial models to effectively assess the country financial position for the current reporting period vs. appropriate comparisons (MTD, QTD, YTD vs. PY, PQ and applicable forecast).
•    Support business strategic imperatives that may include business development, portfolio analysis, accounting change impacts and new product opportunities.
•    Drive optimal use of resources within the franchise through objective evaluation and recommendations for performance improvement.
•    Develop a best in class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.  This includes the development of standardised processes, centralised functions and leveraging offshore centres of excellence.

Key Accountabilities
•    Approx 80-90% of time dedicated to GCB FPA, 10-20% towards ICG and Country responsibilities.
•    Responsible for country consolidation of management numbers and presentation decks, liaising with Country CFO, GCB Country Business Manager (CBM), ICG/GCB business heads as required.
•    Ownership and responsibility for the consolidated Consumer Bank budget / reforecast processes including setting timetables, execution and delivery to the agreed specification to stakeholders;
•    Work closely with GCB Business Planning & Analysis (business finance) teams.  
•    Manage a team of 8 in-country FPA professionals covering ICG and GCB, with oversight of O&T Finance activities.  Manage 3 Mumbai based ( COE) analysts.
•    Attends and contributes at GCB Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings, as a representative of the CFO and Finance.  Attends Finance Leadership Team meetings. 
•    Shared responsibility for financial integrity and high standard of data quality through partnering with onshore and offshore Finance teams; 
•    Provide ongoing financial analysis, interpretation and advice to senior management with the aim of improving business performance;
•    Produce ad hoc reports, presentations, and briefing papers to the CFO,GCB CBM, country GCB SLT, AU & NZ Citi Country Officers (CCOs), Asia Region or others as required;
•    Foster working relationships with business to ensure Finance is able to anticipate new trends, impacts upon financials and work to drive business results.
•    Preparation and presentation of analysis to support strategic business imperatives.
•    Identify and manage the financial performance of each business.  Management should be both at the individual product level and in respect of the portfolio as a whole; review the business outlook and provide recommendations on a regular basis. 
•    The role involves a significant amount of interaction with the regional teams in Singapore and Hong Kong and will at times require overlap of working hours into those time-zones which may be 2 -3 hours behind Sydney depending on the time of year.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications
•    Stakeholder management as senior level / experience with working with multiple stakeholders
•    Strong commercial acumen, analytical and problem solving capabilities with sound understanding of the Australia retail financial services industry, Prior experience in ICG business support advantageous.
•    Experience in budgeting and forecasting, including relevant experience in systems that support the processes
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills
•    Experience in managing projects or significant tasks with strict adherence to deadlines; business case development;
•    Educated to degree level of equivalent.  CA/CPA qualification / MBA sought though not mandatory
•    Deep understanding and experience of the Consumer business, products, segments and channels essential.  Good understanding of ICG businesses and products advantageous.
