The Finance Controls & Entity Analyst position has several key priorities:
Governance (Risk & Controls) for the Finance department, with a particular focus on the Regulatory Reporting,
Legal Entity Reporting for specific entities
Facilitating ad-hoc projects
What progress will you make?
Our Finance team is a trusted advisor to stakeholders throughout the firm, delivering timely, accurate and complete information, accompanied by insightful analytics to enable Citi’s leaders to make sound decisions in support of the business’ objectives. It’s comprised of various disciplines including Treasury, Tax, Controllers, Financial Planning & Analysis and Capital Planning, which oversee matters at global, regional, country, business, product, function and legal entity levels.
In this role, you’re expected to:
Prepare R&C deliverables, including the Managers Control Assessment (MCA) program, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Build and maintain a thorough understanding of Citi’s Risk & Control framework, and financial reporting, systems and processes.
Analyse R&C weaknesses and provide insight and recommendations on issues.
Identify control improvements to strengthen R&C framework for the department.
Support the implementation of controls, policies and procedures.
Collaborate with other businesses and functions to resolve finance related issues.
Provide timely updates related to Governance matters to the Finance management team to ensure risks and control points are addressed.
Manage the Continuity of Business (COB) requirements for all of Finance.
Manage Finance Records Management requirements.
Assist with ensuring Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) requirements are met by CFO and delegates.
Monitor and report regulation change and regulation management for Finance team.
Produce quarterly business monitoring surveys for Internal Audit (BMQS) .
Other ad-hoc work that will be assigned.
Assist with Legal Entity Management (LEM) activities, including reporting, analysis and system setups.
Assist with month end close activities, including review of financials, variance analysis and investigating data issues.
Coordinate ad-hoc projects and tasks.
Act with integrity, due skill, care and diligence in carrying out roles and responsibilities.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
At least 2 years experience in risk & controls and/or audit.
Proven accounting knowledge, pertaining to the banking or financial services industry.
Excellent organization and time management skills – ability to work under pressure, multi-task and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment where unexpected changes may occur.
Attention to detail.
Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across various levels.
Demonstrated initiative - has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision and can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
Qualified or part-qualified CPA/CA preferred.
