Equities Transaction Capture Analyst

Locations: Sydney, New South Wales Job Function: Accounting Employee Status: Regular Job ID: 20153901

The Transaction Capture Analyst is an entry level position responsible for providing analytic and administrative support to traders, in coordination with the Transaction Capture team.The overall objective of this role is to maintain position records and provide support with processes surrounding securities.

Responsibilities

  • Process Australian Equity trades as booked by the bookings team within the market deadlines.
  • Monitor & process conversion trades.
  • Responsibility for the Warrants booking process and life cycle events
  • Monitor & process FX trades and Cash settlements for the treasury funding process.
  • Liaise with broker & custodian counter parties regarding outstanding & failed settlements
  • Liaise with domestic & regional clients, both internal and external for resolution of failed and unmatched trades.
  • Provide pro-active client service at all times to both internal & external clients and Partner with the Business and Middle Office in terms resolving issues.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with offshore teams such as the Corporate Actions team and local teams such as Finance.
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Stock Lending team as well as the CTS custody team.

Requirements

  • Understanding of general business and financial Markets principles.
  • Basic Accounting knowledge with a base to develop Securities accounting knowledge. Understanding of proofing concepts and Two-way reconciliation processes.
  • Minimum Software literacy of ‘intermediate’ in relation to Excel and MS Word.
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant business areas of Study favorable.
  • Treasury Front Office for Australia and NZ
  • Operations and Finance Departments from Local Operations.
  • Various branches & internal counterparties with whom we book trades (to follow-up for deal discrepancies or to respond to their queries)
  • Previous experience in a Financial Markets operations role is preferable.
