Business Release Testing Lead

Locations: Sydney, New South Wales Job Function: Business Strategy, Management & Administration Employee Status: Regular Job ID: 20210502

The Business Release Testing Lead is responsible for ensuring the successful execution and management of all testing and test governance requirements on a monthly basis. This role is accountable to the Head of Release Management & Business Readiness and works collaboratively within the Digital, Delivery and Client Experience team, and franchise Stakeholders.


  • Ownership and management of regression test beds for multiple lines of business
  • Execution, test planning and QA of regression test beds for multiple lines of business
  • Execution, test planning and QA of UAT/PAT for specific technology releases and for multiple lines of business
  • Partner related testing and co-ordination
  • Ensure related release governance items are completed
  • Produce test reporting for stakeholders
  • Coordination of business readiness activities in relation to testing
  • Management and co-ordination of all Sanity testing
  • Liaising with Regional technology testing teams
  • Pro-active in improving the end to end testing process
  • Responsible for conducting quality review to ensure release and test management practices are adhered to associated framework & playbooks
  • Report quality metrics trending reports
  • Review test maturity and provide feedback and input into Continuous improvement forums


  • Exposure to testing tools and methodologies that can improve and optimise our end to end testing outcomes
  • Strong testing and/or test governance experience, preferably dealing with banking systems
  • Exposure to infrastructure, middleware solutions, product processors and / or front end solutions
  • Understanding of Project Management principles and disciplines in particular agile methodology
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across functions
  • Capability to build strong interpersonal relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate agility when faced with conflicting priorities
  • Strengths working in an organised, efficient and effective manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • Degree (or similar) qualified in a commerce (finance / accounting / business) or technology related area of study
  • 5 years+ experience in a testing and/or test governance role
  • Strong leadership and influencing capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Results oriented
