Tax-Exempt Trader

Citi Investment Management (CIM) is a group within Citi Global Wealth Investments that manages assets on a discretionary and advisory basis for clients of Citi. With over $80 billion in assets under management and advisement globally, CIM manages a broad suite of investment strategies within single and multi-asset class products. CIM is currently seeking an experienced tax-exempt trader to join our team of investment professionals and further strengthen the investment management, research, and portfolio construction capabilities of CIM’s strategies. The candidate will be responsible for the daily trading of CIM portfolios and will be a critical contributor to the investment team, with responsibilities related to both investment management and client service functions.

Description:

CIM is currently seeking a tax-exempt trader for its US Fixed Income team. The US Fixed Income investment management business is a rapidly growing group within Citi Global Wealth and CIM.   This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining trading relationships to execute trades for CIM’s tax-exempt fixed income strategies.  The trader will provide the portfolio management team with timely market commentary, trade ideas, research and solutions to improve efficiencies and strategy recommendations.  The trader will be located with the US Fixed Income team in Stamford CT.

Responsibilities:

• Execution of tax-exempt trades
• Source buy opportunities and relative value swap ideas
• Coordinate with CIM credit research team to evaluate relative value opportunities
• Produce scheduled and ad hoc reports
• Perform additional responsibilities and undertake special projects as assigned
• Develop and maintain working relationship with external and internal parties

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of direct experience in US tax-exempt trading
• Detailed knowledge of tax-exempt fixed income market
• Master’s degree in Finance or related field
• CFA preferred but not mandatory, any progress made towards designation appreciated
• Strong communication skills
• Strong credit analytical skills and technical insight
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
