The RRE Underwriter SAFE Act is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Position reports to the CPB RRE Senior Underwriting Manager.
The primary job duty of the RRE Underwriter is to analyze creditworthiness and approve new residential real estate financing transactions. Position reports to the CPB RRE Senior Underwriting Manager.
Underwrite new residential real estate mortgage/HELOC financings ranging primarily in size from $500M to $5MM, with some larger dollar transactions up to $50MM, for professional services and high net worth customers of Citi Private Bank covering properties in the U.S.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Minimum 8 years relevant work experience in a financial institution
Formal bank credit training or relevant lending or motgage underwriting experience.
Knowledge of high net worth or commercial lending, relationship management and sales is advantageous
Strong analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Self-directed and self-motivated
Experience with MS Office applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel). Experience using V-Basic, Excel pivot tables, other database applications preferred.
