Citi Investment Management (CIM) is a group within Citi Global Wealth Investments that manages assets on a discretionary and advisory basis for clients of Citi. With over $80 billion in assets under management and advisement globally, CIM manages a broad suite of investment strategies within single and multi-asset class products.


CIM is currently seeking a Portfolio Manager to expand the Preferred Security Portfolio Management team.  The candidate will be responsible for the daily management of CIM portfolios under the guidance of the team’s senior portfolio managers and will be a critical contributor to the investment team, with responsibilities related to both investment management and client service functions.  The candidate will work closely with senior portfolio managers, internal traders, sell side coverage, credit analysts, sales staff and client service staff to effectively manage preferred security portfolios and internal and external client relationships.


  • Daily management of assigned fixed income portfolios

  • Contribute to investment strategy development, communication and implementation

  • Identify and source investment opportunities and relative value swap ideas

  • Coordinate with the CIM credit research team and traders to evaluate merit

  • Communicate with internal and external clients on portfolio strategy, portfolio performance and market developments

  • Trade execution

  • Generate scheduled and ad hoc reports


  • 5-10 years of direct preferred security experience in either a portfolio management or buy-side trading capacity

  • BA/BS required. MBA and/or CFA in-process or achieved preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills and diligent attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and effectively handle multiple assignments

  • Ability to work well within a group to effectively meet the goals of the team

  • Experience using Bloomberg, Charles River and InvestorTools Perform
