The Retail Network Planning Lead Analyst works within Citibank’s North American Network Distribution team on projects to optimize Citibank’s branch and ATM network.  The role will be focused on scoping, managing, and producing analytical projects and complex deliverables concerning strategic issues that arise from regular operations and new initiatives.  Issues include market, trade area, and site potential, distribution formats for an evolving operational environment, network planning, and model/tool needs for the wider Network Distribution team. 

Major Responsibilities

  • Produce large multi-faceted projects from conception to completion including development of specification, generation of analysis, and delivery of results.
  • Apply project management best practices to manage project plans that fit the stakeholders/customers’ needs while driving business results.
  • Promote team development and partner involvement through ongoing communication, milestone and status updates, and review of lessons-learned upon project completion.
  • Collaborate to form influential relationships with peers, leadership, and partners to inspire a sense of shared purpose and unite on desired outcomes.
  • Use GIS and analytical software to provide in-depth, sophisticated analysis through manipulation, exploration, summarization, and modeling of disparate data and information.
  • Assess project risk potential and discover potential operational and tactical risk factors before they occur.  Escalate issues to project manager as appropriate to keep projects on task.
  • Build and maintain tools, databases, analytical procedures, and templates to support analytical work and streamline regular processes.
  • Produce presentation quality summaries of work projects including maps, tables, and other graphics.
  • Stay abreast of current industry trends and new technology.
  • Contribute to critical business strategic decisions through provided services.
  • Some travel for field research and in-person meetings.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years industry experience in market planning and site selection for banking or retail.
  • Undergraduate degree in Geography, Economics, or related field.  Graduate degree a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, integrate, and communicate complex requirements specific to applied retail GIS to both non-technical and technical personnel.
  • Ability to balance a deep and diverse project load in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of how own area and others integrate to achieve business objectives.
  • Expertise in desktop GIS (MapInfo, ESRI) and the application of geospatial data including demographics to address site location questions.
  • Experience with the MS Office suite, particularly Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in statistical concepts and software packages (SAS, SPSS).
  • Strong problem solving abilities, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Embraces change and remains positive and flexible within evolving strategic environment.
