Trust Risk Manager. NAM. SVP

The CPB US domestic trust business is a highly specialized business providing Trust & Fiduciary Services to UHNW clients of Citi Private Bank.

We currently require a trust risk professional with specialist knowledge of the US trust market, together with deep domain trust and fiduciary management experience to provide independent risk oversight, supporting fiduciary activities, regulatory reviews and initiatives to assist maintain a firm wide fiduciary risk framework, improve timeliness and escalation of material risks to the Global Head of Trust and Fiduciary Risk, senior management and Boards, to enhance the accuracy of fiduciary related activities and assist define governance related to Fiduciary policies.

The ideal candidate will have extensive trust management experience, together with some experience in Risk Management, Compliance, regulatory project management or Operational Risk.

Experience with an international trust business will also be advantageous. 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include acting as the legal vehicle Risk manager, supporting project workstreams to embed the fiduciary Risk framework, policies and target operating model and support the implementation of target state.

Provide training & support to trust professionals, Fiduciary Service Heads on applicable Risk policy covering trust & fiduciary activities as well as and other control partners from Tax, Legal and Compliance.

Assist the Global Trust and Fiduciary Head with periodic presentations to senior management, regulators, and other constituents, requiring the translation of complex concepts into 'user friendly' language and deputize where required for urgent fiduciary risk items or regulatory matters.

Analyse, interpret and present key numerical and regulatory data and global risk/compliance policies as directed by the Global Head of Trust & Fiduciary Risk or as required by the CGW Risk Head.

Participate, in global Risk and business meetings, some of which may take place outside of U.S. business hours.

Have a good understanding of Conflicts of Interest frameworks in the context of fiduciary responsibilities.

This is an important position within Global Citi Private Bank (CPB) independent Trust Risk Team and is an exciting opportunity for the appropriate candidate. The CPB Risk team has robust engagement with a wide range of business and control function professionals. 

The candidate will work closely with Business Risk, the Citi Trust International business and other control functions (Tax, Compliance, Operations and Legal) in delivering independent Risk oversight and appropriate business challenge. 

Outstanding performance may open a wide range of future opportunities within CPB, Global Risk Management, and other areas of the firm.

The successful candidate would be expected to provide back up support to other Senior Trust Risk team members, from time to time on International Trust Risk items and during absences.

Knowledge and Experience:

10+ years of trust & fiduciary experience preferred; those with less experience may be considered given relevant product knowledge or risk/compliance experience.

Significant experience and an in-depth understanding of trusts and estates, including the trust fiduciary industry for the U.S. market.  

A good understanding of US Domestic wealth planning and Trust and Estate structuring for UHNW clients.

Ability to see the "big picture" without losing attention to detail.  Takes pride of ownership in all deliverables.

Have gravitas and be able to deal with complex fiduciary issues with very senior members of the trust company together with various other control functions such as the head of legal, tax and compliance together with product partners from across the Private Bank.

Highly experienced in all aspects of Trust and Company administration for the US market, with some experience of International clients.

Qualifications:

An undergraduate degree in a financial related discipline such as Business, Economics, Law or Finance (US Related)

Other relevant industry certification/diplomas - e.g. Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) qualifications/levels attained.

Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel for metrics and data analysis and PowerPoint for presentation decks

10 years+ equivalent experience in a senior Fiduciary Role.

Proven ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and tasks

Proven interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills
