Rates & Currencies Product team is focused on delivering product solutions and project management to the Sales & Trading business.

eDealer is the core trading platform, used by the FXLM business, encompassing wide range of products from FX & MM to Fixed Income & Derivatives. The system is built by an inhouse team and is implemented in over 80+ countries. It manages the entire workflow cycle starting from STP from exchanges/trading platforms,  calculating PnL & Risk and feed downstream systems for settlement, accounting and financial reporting.

This job offers an abundant opportunity for the right individual to showcase their creativity & business knowledge in providing system solutions to the trading & sales business.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as a product manager for the eDealer platform & transform it by moving to Citi's analytical libraries
  • Work on implementation and roll-out to replace existing valuation method to Citi Rates quantitative models
  • Deliver innovative pricing, trade execution and reporting capabilities for traders & sales.
  • The individual will be the interface between business stakeholders and the development team covering all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirement gathering to production rollout.
  • The individual will partner with development, business and support teams to build an understanding of the varied and complex business functionality supported by Citigroup financial systems.
  • This is a hands-on role that will offer exposure to the full testing life cycle, whilst working closely with the front office business and development teams across the globe.
  • Build and maintain application and functional knowledge to show-case system features to user base
  • Assist in creating functional enhancement documents, prioritize them with the business, explain them to the development team & then execute User Acceptance Testing scripts to ensure quality delivery of software solution to the business
  • Work on the release management process for eDealer ensuring that enhancements delivered are tested, required documentation are in place and ensure zero defects raised in internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate and partner closely with program managers, development leads, test leads and production support teams to ensure that software is specified and tested to highest quality.
  • Second line support (investigation of problems that front-line support cannot resolve)

Key Relationships:

  • Close interaction with the Traders in the Hubs and Local Markets globally
  • Chennai based development centre
  • FX & Rates Support teams
  • Cross functional team of Operations, Middle Office and other IT personnel


  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with strong prior experience & understanding of financial products, risk management processes, platforms and capabilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate products.
  • Knowledge of Emerging Markets and their peculiarities, nuances.
  • Excellent project management capabilities. 
  • Demonstrate expertise on delivering medium-large global projects to traders without time/cost overruns.
  • Experience in building excel based pricing models would be a strong plus.


  • MS Office and in particular, expert Excel skills with VBA.
  • Intermediate/Expert on financial market calculations (e.g. FX, interest rates, NPV, Bond Pricing etc.)
  • Intermediate/Expert on Agile development platforms.  Conversant with the development lifecycle and tools used (e.g. JIRA, Kanban, Scrum boards etc.)


  • Systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to testing and problem solving
  • Ability to persuade and influence staff at all levels, with diplomatic but assertive approach in dealing with people
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a proactive attitude, always seeking opportunities to add value
  • Experienced in working on multiple issues & enhancements in parallel
  • Demonstrate Creativity and Curiosity in/outside work.
  • Demonstrated passion to own a product, with a dogged focus on the user experience. 
  • Politically astute with sound judgment.  Build effective working relationships across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Have a strong moral compass and a governance/controls mind-set.  Proactively identify, escalate and manage risks in the process.  Focused on doing the right thing for the bank and its clients.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.  Challenge the status quo.
