Responsibilities
The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team.
This role provides management oversight for 8 In-country (MSST or SST) technology teams aligned to APAC SST Regional Team. In Country Technology teams would cover Securities Services related local applications and Trading & FX related applications as well, for some countries. Need to act as an escalation point for Business & Operations units in these countries. Formulate and Execute In-Country Technology strategy.
Major responsibilities would include ensuring Application hygiene (addressing all risk & control items pertaining to the applications), provide oversight on Book of Work, assist the In-Country teams to liaise with the relevant Regional and Global teams, including Infrastructure, Compliance, R&C teams and act as a gate-keeper for any new applications that are brought into the countries.
Manage financial discipline without compromising on service delivery to Business and Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Application hygiene by addressing all Risk & Control items in a timely manner
- Review the book of work as agreed with each country and ensure the project goals of
delivering on time, on budget for agreed scope are adhered to
- Appropriate placement of solutions in relevant local/ regional/ global applications as per strategy
- Ensuring that all technology service needs are addressed, to comply with any prevailing SLAs and/or reasonable expectations of country businesses.
- Work closely with the SS Tech teams on implementation/ adoption of key Global/Regional & Local Tech initiatives
- Stake Holder management
- Would be the SPOC for In-country teams for all queries related to Technology
- Ensuring all requirements undertaken comply with IT Governance, Banking Security standards and audit framework
- Assist teams in front ending auditors and regulators
- Reviewing progress of service improvement initiatives for the country, escalating and contributing ideas as appropriate;
- Facilitating the evolution and agreement of balanced business risk and commercial service level agreements between business groups and technology groups
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
- Experience as Applications Manager
- Experience as senior level in an Applications Development role
- Stakeholder and people management experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Proven project management skills
- Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
