Core Operations - Unit Manager
This unit head role will partner operations teams, control teams and business partners in managing the service delivery. This role will provide and instill strong management to ensure timely and quality implementation for continuous improvement in processes and system capabilities, as well as audit deliverables.
Key responsibilities
- Effectively manage and provide oversight of high risk third party activities. Ensuring effective risk management practices are in place for external third-party relationships, adhering to Citi’s Third-Party Risk Management program
- Manage and lead the team that perform critical Core Ops processes. These processes are critical to be executed accurately and timely with strong controls, adhering to Regional Consumer Controls Procedures Manual (RCCPM). In addition, the role requires extensive collaboration with stakeholders, including sales manager, product manager, sales compliance, operations units and technology on product fulfilment, process controls and system enhancements.
- Lead the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for banking systems. Ensure the banking system parameters maintenance is executed with strong controls.
- The unit manager is responsible for digitization strategy for the processes in these units and execution in country while collaborating with region
- Manage and optimize the resources in these units. Deliver on the planned FTE / budget. Monitor efficiency and drive productivity saves and re-engineering within the operations units and track actions through to resolution
- Ensure all processes are executed in accordance with Citi policies and procedures, complying with statutory regulations and laws and ensure enhancement and maintenance of internal controls to reduce/control risks and to improve operations standards
- Handle all Audits – internal and external
- MCA, DMT reviews and control are effectively managed
- Streamline process and automate, work towards achieving optimum productivity and accuracy
- Responsible for timely processing of relevant invoices, cost allocation and manage accrual, expenses and provide MIS
- Take ownership for people management practices to ensure excellent employee experience in the course of the entire employee life cycle (e.g. regular team and individual dialogues, training, coaching, other development opportunities, “Voice of Employee” actions, etc.). Ensure robust talent management, succession planning and diversity plans are in place
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in finance or related field with >15 years of relevant operational/product experience

- Good understanding of managing large operations team, complex franchise critical processes and relevant controls
- Experience of working in a process-driven environment
- People and Project Management Skills
- Able to work independently while leading a team to deliver outcomes under time constraints
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially under high pressure situations
- Meticulous and eye for detail and process improvement
- Demonstrated change management/people leadership/management
- Experience in people management, capacity planning and managing resourcing

- Excellent interpersonal, communicate, leadership and management skills
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills and the ability to multi-task effectively in a high-volume and dynamic environment.
