The Data/Information Mgt Grp Mgr is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Excellent commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

Responsibilities:

  • This function covers incumbents responsible for various data activities, which include database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality, and database management or database architecture / design engineering
  • Day-to-day focus is on resolution of complex problems or transactions, where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes
  • Role at this level usually has full ownership for one or more processes, reports, procedures or products, and may also be considered analytical or procedural experts representing a unit or team on cross-function process or project deliverables
  • May supervise day-to-day work of junior level employees
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Experience developing and implementing analytical strategies (model and non-model based targeting, segmentation, and customer research) in the financial services industry
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and presentation skills
  • In-depth understanding of the various financial service business models, expert knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and how to apply the techniques to drive substantial business results
  • Creative problem solving skills with a passion to drive analytics


Education:

  • Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

Job Overview

From a data and analytics perspective, the integration into CGW leads to an opportunity to transform the data capabilities and leverage on best of both GCB and CPB can offer. Reporting directly to the Regional Head of Wealth Analytics, this role will ensure we reach our desired end-state of a forward-compatible, simplified, integrated data assets that will power data-driven decisions, campaign targeting, business reporting, customer engagement, sales and service journeys and many more.

Specifically, the role will be responsible for understanding the data needs under the integration requirement. Large part of this is the requirement from global and regional stakeholders which manages the CGW business holistically between CPB and GCB. A baselining of the current data assets and data capabilities and a roadmap of what processes can be done within a single set of platforms and investments, what are the gaps on what is available on one and not on the other, and lastly to work side by side with Technology team ensuring inputs from the analytics team have been considered for Technology to build solutions that will solve for the current gaps and also those that will promote the best features from either side CPB or GCB. Create and implement new databases and integration standards. Responsible for coordinating, facilitating, supporting activities related to creation of data models, data integration across multiple systems, planning, execution, delivery, adoption and change management.

In addition, the data integration team is also co-responsible for data visualization and democratization, ensuring that data and insights are flowing at the speed of decision making, putting the power of data in the hands of all business users.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

Data Integration

  • Map out requirements on data capabilities from an integration perspective, review the immediate book of work and craft interim and tactical plans to solve for it
  • Provide an independent assessment to Technology of the gaps on the data models which needs to be addressed on the go-to integrated data platform solution
  • Lead resource for strategic oversight and planning of data models and database design
  • Partner with Technology in launching the Data Fabric initiative – single consolidated data layers and sources at CGW level
  • Oversee the design and implementation of new data assets, document all the sources, data dictionary and mapping across multiple systems and sources
  • Facilitate cascade of new data models, mapping as well as validation and sign-off i.e., overall project management of data assets creation and deployment
  • Own the understanding and linking up of data models into CRM systems to facilitate customer management both in sales and service
  • Consider all data sources concerning GCB business analytics and outline a design to integrate, centralize (where applicable), and maintain the data into the go-to solution
  • Partner with data engineers to build the working data management framework for data by organizing data at the macro level and bringing the data governance perspective into data model discussions and workshops
  • Define the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behavior and drive adoption of new data models and data assets
  • Be a champion for a data driven culture, lead a team of cross-functional analysts and support and train staff in data systems and reporting
  • Manage engagements with cross functional teams – Technology, Wealth Business teams, Analytics teams, country, region and global to ensure timely delivery of committed projects, front load resourcing asks, dependencies, challenges and proposed solutions
