The Vice President, Business Management for the BCMA Technology Group is a mid-level position who will be responsible for the overall activities of the business based out of Citi’s San Francisco office. The Vice President, Business Management for BCMA Technology may coordinate and manage activities such as the tracking of business performance and productivity measures, revenue and expense management, client administration, capital management, talent management and other administrative needs and ad hoc projects as necessary. In addition, tasks may include managing compliance, external audits, business continuity activities and/or addressing regulatory matters.

More specific responsibilities related to supporting Banking, Capital Markets & Advisory (BCMA) Technology include, but are not limited to:

  • Communication to Senior BCMA management including preparation of quarterly and annual business reviews
  • Partner with BCMA Global Heads of Technology in setting and implementing strategy
  • Manage client target market and conduct market share analysis
  • Coordinate all BCMA activities with BCMA product groups including Citi Institutional Client Group partners (e.g. CCB, GCM, Markets, Private Bank, Risk, TTS, etc.)
  • Prepare client invoices and maintain revenue pipeline, new business mandates, client opportunities, and tracking of other client strategic initiatives
  • Engage in capital management strategic initiatives to achieve capital optimization objectives
  • Function as key day-to-day touchpoint in areas ranging from Business Controls and Supervision, Compliance, Facilities, Finance, Legal, and Operations & Technology
  • Serve as a Compliance/Control officer including deal documentation/files, KYC, monitoring registrations & floor access, and ensuring suitable oversight & control framework exists
  • Conduct revenue analysis, manage and prepare expense budgets, and provide reporting on key performance metrics
  • Prepare group presentation materials for internal and external constituents
  • Assist in talent management initiatives, recruiting processes, and headcount planning
  • Help the franchise enhance global connectivity and share content across regions & products
  • Represent the business in various committees and governance forums
  • Execute expense management activities including the processing of vendor invoices and review of staff T&E expense
  • Engage in cost management activities, such as validating spending and cost saving initiatives, monitoring savings initiatives and expenses, as well as monitoring consistency between financial information, productivity information, and HR reports
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs, propose initiatives and lead creation of direct expense plans in partnership with internal functions and teams
  • Ensure out-of-budget expenditure requests are appropriately approved and processed
  • Manage and drive the process to set up a continuous cycle of organization/operating model reviews to shape the organization model
  • Monitor strict adherence to governance and ensure risks are addressed, setting high standards of professionalism across all functions
  • Lead, develop, recruit and train the BCMA Technology business administration team
  • Provide leadership and promote business ties with internal and external senior leaders/clients across key businesses, regions and support functions
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team, complex projects and processes
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated strategic planning, financial reporting, budgeting and cash flow management skills
  • Consistently detail-oriented, goal-oriented and able to work in a team
  • Proven strategic planning and presentation skills
  • Consistently develop and maintain effective work relationships
  • Proven ability to conduct research/analysis and organize findings
  • FINRA 63, 7, 79 series licenses preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience 
  • Master's degree preferred
