The L3 Java/J2EE Application Manager within Global Functions Technology is a senior level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team. The overall objective of this role is manage the L3 activities within the MCA application working with developers (hands on) to resolve production issues routed through L1/L2 support teams. .
Responsibilities:
- Manage GRC-MCA L3 teams in an effort to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
- Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications
- Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects and to support quick resolutions found in production.
- Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project
- Interacting with Business analysts and managers to understand the requirements behind BRDs/FRDs/SRs.
- Complete understanding of application code through code compilation, code walkthrough, execution flow, overall design.
- Identifying the areas where code needs to change for meeting the required functionalities and maintain traceability
- Hands on Development using required IDE such as Eclipse & related plug ins, SQL client etc
- Unit testing, Integration testing, UAT/SIT support
- Code check in, check out, merge, build management as needed
- Reporting to the GRC-MCA Risk Technology manager on project/task/support queries and progress as needed
- Keeping all the developers and technical leads motivated, manage career planning for them and related performance appraisal
- Maintain technical, thought leadership and disseminate knowledge to team and peers
Qualifications:
- 6- plus years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
- 6plus years of experience as Java J2EE Applications Development Manager or Application management lead.
- 6-Plus years’ experience of developing enterprise applications using latest technology stack and methodology like Java, J2ee, Microservices, Angular, PL/SQL , Docker.
- Stakeholder and people management experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Excellent problem solving skills, issue tracking, remedy and closure.
- Excellent communication skills and dealing with the business
- Good understanding Agile methodologies and working in Scrum teams.
- Hands on coding and design, code review skills
- Ability to work across support teams L1, L2.
- Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standard
- Passion for technology and self- starter
- Orientation towards Disciplined development/planning processes
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
