The Credit Initiation specialist is an entry level position responsible for assisting in assessing the ability of individuals, companies and institutions to meet the demands of loans, agreements and extended obligations in coordination with the Operations - Services team.The overall objective of this role is to minimize threats to the company by determining the terms or level of credit that can be granted without undue risk.

Responsibilities:


•Train and coach credit initiation specialists and use credit knowledge and signing authority to manage exceptions
•Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of customer documentation and recorded information within computerized systems
•Interpret procedures and policies to guide support staff in resolving complex problems
•Ensure the quality of tasks and services provided by the team
•Apply knowledge of technical and professional principles and concepts
•Exchange information in a concise and logical way, while being sensitive to audience diversity
•Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:

•Relevant experience in a related role
•Fundamental understanding of procedures and concepts within own technical area
•Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Skills:
• Sound credit judgment, in ensuring that apps are approved within the credit/regulatory guidelines.
• Detailed examination of documents (income, id) & applicant profiling to prevent fraud
• Focus on turnaround time & processing accuracy
• High level of service to internal & external customers.

Education:

•Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
