This role serves as the senior TTS Sanction Operations manager directly managing a team 100+ full time employees in Olsztyn for TTS ops functions. The role will primarily cover Sanctions functions for global operations. A hands-on leader with knowledge of Sanctions with deep understanding of drivers of operational efficiency is essential. Transaction processing knowledge is an advantage for this role.


Candidate responsibility covers Level 1 Sanction Screening process including supporting documentation screening. The role covers all TTS ops functions, which are Payments and Receivables, Cards, Accounts Service Operation and Trade. The role has exposure on EMEA region including cooperation with other regional sanction hubs representatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong people management experience, understanding of all function details and risk points, and solid communication skills are needed to interact with Senior Leaders across Product, Sales, Relationship, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams globally. 

  • Provide leadership, direction, strategy, oversight and advocacy for sanctions functions regionally

  • Optimize processes, Review Sanction screening and AML exceptions.

  • Minimizing compliance related issues through proactive reviews of process, management of risk and control processes (e.g. lessons learnt mechanism, review of processes etc.), root case analysis and embedding learnings across TTS.

  • Managing and supporting O&T sanctions initiatives as required, such as the implementation of new Compliance systems, detective and preventive controls, and related project management work efforts.

  • Staying abreast of relevant changes to Citi sanctions policies, identifies impact of such changes on TTS procedures and proactively works with O&T teams globally to adopt such changes in manner that is consistent with policies and is sustainable on the long run.

  • Lead extensive stakeholder management and day-to-day collaboration with team members and business partners in Product, Sales, Account Management, Implementations and Country operations, etc. to deliver best in class service. 

  • Gather data for conducting meaningful analysis to reduce Manual Touch Points and increase Straight-Through Processing.

  • Setting the strategy and goals/priorities aligned with franchise and regional functional strategies for the cash management business

  • Promote Client Excellence – Driving robust client solutions and service delivery excellence that result in robust VOC scores


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with and previous exposure to control / risk functions and compliance related projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and written/verbal communications skills

  • Ability to create support and buy-in across a wide range of stakeholders; create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, and decision makers.

  • Proven ability to build successful teams

  • Analysis and decision making - able to identify and understand the primary issues, problems and opportunities and develop appropriate solutions

  • Demonstrated success in driving and implementing process excellence

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Transaction Banking products and handling regulatory / compliance matters; experience with influencing cross functional teams, experience in handling policies, issues and remediation

  • 10+ years of relevant regional and/or global experience in a financial institution

  • 5+ years Client Delivery/Operations Management experience, particularly in a manager of managers role

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Management degree from reputed recognized university would be preferred
