Scenario Analysis – Detailed Description
The Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis Program Manager will support the Program Lead who leads a team executing against multiple highly transformational, complex programs of work, including the Stress Testing Program and Scenario Analysis Program. The team, together, will be responsible for achieving the goals and objectives of the Stress Testing Program and Scenario Analysis Program, including PMO and content delivery to support the second line Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis teams, as well as associated risk stripes. We are hiring multiple Program Managers and candidates will be aligned to Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis if it matches their area of expertise as identified through the interview process.
Program Managers in the recently established Risk Program Management Organization are expected to have a track-record in managing complex, multi-faceted initiatives with multiple stakeholders within Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis, as well as strong partnership, collaboration and creative problem-solving skills to achieve value-adding outcomes. Strong understanding of effective Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis practices will be expected of the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Program manage the Book of Work across Risk stripes in relation to Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis, and, in partnership with other Program Management leads, businesses and other functions, with best-in-class execution discipline
Partner closely with the Program Lead in area of program expertise to:
Understand the current state of Citi’s Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis policies and plans, in particular around Wholesale Credit Risk, Retail Credit Risk, Price Risk, Operational Risk, Interest Rate Risk, and Liquidity Risk, etc.
Understand and help the Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis Programs manage Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis governance practices across the different risk stripes and across the Enterprise
Support execution plans to meet deliverables critical to the Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis Programs
Manage and monitor the performance of assigned Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis Program milestones and deliverables to ensure program scope definition is in alignment to business goals
Ensure consistent implementation of common PMO standards, reporting, and closure process across programs
Provide on-the-ground support to help execute the planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities of running the Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis Programs
Monitor and track execution of the Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis Programs within the Initiative and escalate program risks impacting project delivery to appropriate stakeholders; ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary
Support the identification and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established projects of work
Collaborate with other Program Managers and Leads to action deliverables from reviews of each program’s defined scope, target state, and success criteria to ensure it fully addresses the letter and the spirit of the regulatory feedback, broader supervisory expectations and underlying issues and root causes, and is embedded in a broader strategic vision
Support all aspects of the project reporting including: RAG ratings, key performance indicators, status updates, adherence to dates and deliverables and quality of deliverables
Continuously ensure that programs have clearly identified the required roles and responsibilities and have appropriately identified, and are engaging, all relevant Citi stakeholders with appropriate accountability
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
At least 5 years’ experience in genuine Program management or consulting roles during which s/he applied a structured approach (methodology) to the successful management, tracking, planning, monitoring and reporting of concurrent, multiple financial services projects spanning broad geographies and organizations
Experience within a highly complex, global financial institution or related industry
Specific subject matter expertise regarding Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis Programs and program management disciplines, including governance practices and risk stripes
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively problem solve
Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large organizations, including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/requests
Understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions, particularly in the risk management space
Ability to quickly come up to speed on multiple topics concurrently (e.g. risk frameworks, processes that are being remediated / transformed) to be able to understand program objectives and to oversee / contribute effectively to their execution
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
The role will consist of partnering closely with Risk PMO Program Lead to understand the current state of Citi’s Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis methodologies and governance practices within and across each risk stripe. The Risk Project manager will support execution plans to meet deliverables critical to the Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis Programs, as well as manage and monitor the performance of assigned Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis milestones and deliverables.
Important qualifications include at least 5 years’ experience in genuine Program management or consulting roles, subject matter expertise within Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis, and strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration with teams.
