Background & Position Summary

Citi US Branded Cards is a market leader in the credit card industry. With a pre-eminent global brand and distribution, US Branded Cards maintains its leadership position by delivering industry-leading products, advanced services and payment systems that address clients’ evolving needs.

This position is part of the Lending Product team, within the larger US Branded Cards organization.  The Lending Product team is responsible for building and managing products that best meet consumer needs related to borrowing and deliver sustainable revenue growth for Citi.  This includes Non-Card Unsecured Lending products, such as Personal Loans, and On-Card Lending features, such as Flex Loan and Flex Pay, which launched in 2019.  This team oversees the P&L for our existing product suite, as well as product feature backlogs, positioning, customer experience, and operational excellence for those products. 

The VP, Flex Product Development position will be responsible for the design, build, and implementation of new Flex Pay and Flex Loan features and enhancements to best meet customer needs and deliver sustainable revenue growth for Citi.  This will include partnering with key stakeholders to define and write product requirements, and working with Tech to deliver features with high quality.  This individual will shape and advance Citi’s Lending strategy, informed by a deep understanding of product development as well as lending economics, our customers, and the competition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain deep understanding of our Lending business, including customer needs, competitive environment, and the operations and experiences of our key products

  • Manage the development of product enhancements from ideation to launch, and act as a key point of contact for enhancements owned

  • Create well-defined product requirements/user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Work closely with Technology and operations partners to oversee the design & build phases of product enhancements

  • Deliver product enhancements on time, within budget, and with high quality

  • Monitor and report out status of the work in progress, as well as key performance indicators relative to expectations post-launch

Candidate Qualifications

  • 5+ years in new product development, product management, or similar role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • Enthusiasm for exceptional digital products & services, and a customer first mindset

  • Ability to communicate complex topics to key stakeholders at both business and technical levels

  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills to be able to respond quickly and creatively to complex issues

  • Ability to partner with and lead a large cross functional team to drive results

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to find, analyze, and distill data into actionable insights

  • Will to win and desire to have fun
