The Credit Loss Forecasting Officer is an intermediate-level position responsible to contribute to   CCAR/Business Planning Loss Forecasting process (Losses, Reserves, Cost of Credit) with given economic scenarios on a timely manner based on loan level CCAR Models with rigorous Risk Control/Governance for Mortgage and US retail Bank-Unsecured for Both Regulatory Stress Testing and Non-Regulatory Capital Planning purposes. You will be a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables.


What You’ll Do:

  • Perform portfolio risk evaluation and credit loss forecasting for US Mortgage, Retail Banking, and Small Business accounts

  • Performs business analysis to respond to regulatory and business questions and provide portfolio insights.

  • Perform the CCAR related work with a comprehensive understanding of relevant model techniques, business operations, and regulatory requirements for both Champion model and Benchmark models

  • Provides regulatory risk project management support (business requirements, analysis, and testing) for delivery of regulatory solutions. (i.e.CECL, Part 30 core capabilities initiatives, stress test and CCAR regulatory requirements, etc.)

  • Provide econometric modeling and statistical analyses of large-scale mortgage data sets to identify relationships and trends among various loss factors

  • Conduct monthly loan-level and segment-level credit loss forecast for mortgage risk portfolio using Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) and other quantitative tools

  • Forecast month-over-month delinquency trends using econometric/statistical/non-statistical models

  • Conduct sensitivity analyses under various economic assumptions and variance walk between forecasts and actual figures

  • Develop and update monthly reports and presentations for senior management

  • Collaborate with loss reserve team to conduct risk assessment by recommending both adequate levels of credit loss reserves and management adjustments to reserves based on economic headwinds

  • Collaborate with various units of risk management business to understand and solve business problems

  • Contribute to the development of new techniques and improvement of processes and workflows by applying in-depth disciplinary knowledge and integrating subject matter and industry expertise within Risk Management

  • Responsible for communicating to executive management implications of existing and opposed regulation and developing potential responses. This may include regulations related to specific product or macro / systemic regulation, including standards to comply with Basel II / III, MiFID, U.S. Fed, Treasury, FDIC and regulations from other central banks and regulatory authorities

  • Performs data analysis to monitor and track data quality and completeness of data.

  • Provides Project Management of various deliverables for Portfolio Risk Review chapter. Involvement in rationalization of EUCs (End User Computing) used for Portfolio Risk Reviews.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.


Skills You’ll Need:

  • 6-10 years’ experience in product program governance and risk management framework

  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit source systems, collateral reporting systems, and end reporting/ warehousing

  • Broad understanding of classifiable and delinquency managed credit and operational policies and procedures

  • Demonstrate financial and risk reporting knowledge as well as experience from the business and/or technical area desired

  • Should have Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office – particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and Word (writing and editing procedural and technical documentation)

  • Project management knowledge and experience working with diverse group of stakeholders to achieve milestones and deadlines and capability to handle multiple projects at one time

  • Proven relationship management skills with ability to deepen relationships and build partnerships across the business, executive leadership and key functional support areas like Government Affairs, Communications, Legal, Compliance, Control, in-business Risk, and Independent Risk

  • Knowledge of Citi products, risk processes and controls with good understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management framework

  • Experience in compiling process and data quality metrics, analyzing results to clearly communicate data-driven analysis to senior management

  • Not required but it is an advantage licensing/registration: Series 4, Series 7, Series 9, Series 10, Series 24


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
