VP, CECL Credit & Reporting Manager

Position Objective

Global Small Business Banking (SBB) is a $7 billion loan portfolio focusing on clients in the U.S., Mexico and Korea, with annual sales up to $20 million and borrowing needs up to $5 million.

The role will primarily serve as the end-to-end process Manager for the Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL), assuming full responsibility to assure Small Business’s portfolio adherence to the quarterly credit reserve requirements. In this capacity, the function will conduct credit allowance analysis and compile materials to aid Senior Management's review, maintain and execute reporting and process controls.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Compile and follow the quarterly CECL process calendar, track progress and end-to-end execution of the milestones according to the firm-wide guidelines and expectations, coordinate with country risk, modelling functions, Retail risk to ensure timely and successful review, submission and compliance with the credit reserve process

  • Utilize team’s proprietary computing and data collection spreadsheets, submission templates and systems to collect, review and report the Small Business credit allowances

  • Assess CECL results for the portfolio, identify main drivers behind the period over period changes

  • Liaise with the modelling and country risk teams to ensure good understanding of impacts of the macro-economic forecast, portfolio composition and qualitative adjustments on the credit provisions

  • Prepare materials and facilitate the quarterly CECL review meetings with Senior Risk Management

  • Document reviews held in meeting minutes, track action items with relevant stakeholders and support their resolution

  • Maintain up to date the internal process documents, team’s proprietary computing tools, perform key controls and facilitate self-assessment/MCA testing


  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in roles associated with portfolio risk management, risk analytics, credit risk forecasting

  • Working familiarity with Allowance for Credit losses and good understanding of related concepts are preferred

  • Accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience are preferred

  • Highly Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, credit risk data analytics and management

  • Strong hands-on project and time management experience, good organizational skills, and attention to details

  • Solid writing and verbal skills, able to formulate clear and concise analysis and presentation materials

  • Good interpersonal skills, including ability to successfully work with various teams

  • Able to cope with highly demanding environment, where unexpected changes in requirements need to be timely and properly addressed

  • Goal oriented, able to multi-task, proactive and taking initiative


  • Bachelor's Degree in business, economics, accounting, or equivalent experience
