The Vice President of Business Communications will be a key member of the Global Consumer Bank (GCB) Operations & Fraud Prevention communications team within the Global Public Affairs organization. Global Public Affairs seeks to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its businesses and the brand through direct and indirect communication with Citi's various stakeholders.

Working closely with the internal communications lead, senior management and support functions for GCB Operations & Fraud Prevention, the VP will be instrumental in delivering high-quality strategic communications from the executive business head and leadership team to engage an audience of more than 50,000 colleagues worldwide. The VP will work to develop and execute communications with compelling content and messaging that both aligns with broader company objectives and resonates with this unique employee population. The VP will also be responsible for supporting the GCB Diversity and Inclusion communications strategy, ensuring message consistency and understanding of this critical priority for bank. In addition, the VP will adeptly navigate a highly complex and heavily matrixed organization to support communications alignment and coordination across the bank.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the GCB Operations & Fraud Prevention internal communications lead to support communications strategy and tactics that enhance culture, drive purpose and improve productivity for the organization.

  • Create and execute leadership communications for the executive business head and leadership team, including town hall preparation, speeches and written and video messages

  • Support leaders and partners to drive consistent messaging that has the right tone and information and is conversational and understandable

  • Ensure that communications align to and reinforce the firm’s business objectives, strategic priorities, culture and mission and value proposition

  • Develop creative communications tactics to break through and resonate with colleagues while also leveraging primary channels including web, video and town halls  

Qualifications:

  • At least seven years of communications experience, preferably at a large and complex organization, or at an agency supporting large organizations

  • Superior writing and editing skills to develop engaging senior leader messages, internal articles  and talking points for speeches and presentations

  • Able to identify synergies between business initiatives and the corporate strategy to drive message clarity and understanding

  • Adept at building and managing relationships with senior executives, navigating competing interests and providing opposing viewpoints productively

  • Ability to provide strategic communications plans and council, and executing communications tactics for senior leaders and business groups

  • A self-starter who will suggest and execute creative ways to communicate key business initiatives, efforts and launches across communication channels

  • A team player who effectively works across businesses and functions to deliver strong and effective communications

  • Track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment

  • Light graphic design and web production 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism or other related field

  • External communications experience preferred
