This is a senior level position responsible for assisting clients in the origination and structuring of new Sustainable Debt Capital Markets (DCM) business as part of the NAM capital markets team.  The candidate will help provide strategic advice to DCM clients on the structuring and issuance of green/social/sustainability and sustainability-linked bonds and loans, as well as input and insight on the broader sustainable financing agenda.  The role involves pitching clients, leading the structuring work on frameworks and execution of transactions, as well as driving content and thought leadership.


  • Assume significant levels of responsibility for the various phases of project and transaction execution, new business development and overall growth of the firm in Sustainable Finance
  • Work closely with clients and internal banking and coverage teams on financing transactions and guide them through the capital raising process, including structuring, framework development and execution
  • Create and independently deliver Sustainable Financing pitches to NAM DCM clients covering both market developments and structuring considerations
  • Work closely with Citi’s Sustainability and Corporate Transitions team to identify opportunities to leverage Citi’s sustainable finance advisory work as well as the global Sustainable Debt Capital Markets team to stay current on global market developments and best practices
  • Develop an understanding of the sustainable debt investor base and cultivate relationships with investors as well as external bodies such as SPO providers, ICMA, etc.
  • Share best practices and coach and develop junior teammates and others to ensure they maximize their performance, meet the required standards and continuously develop their capabilities and expertise


  • 6-10 years of professional experience, 3 to 5 years of experience within sustainable debt capital markets or a related team at a financial services firm or at an advisory firm active in the sustainable bond market
  • Experience in Fixed Income preferable
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the sustainable finance market, investor and regulatory developments
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly collaborative and flexible, ability to develop strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Experience with large corporate clients, fixed income capital markets products and credit markets
  • Series 7 and 63 preferred


  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
