Citi Commercial Cards is the leading provider of Charge Card solutions to multi-national corporations and public sector organizations, offering global payment capabilities in over 100 countries. Together, the Travel & Entertainment (T&E) and Business-to-Business (B2B) product lines form the core of Citi’s business expense management offering, leveraged by over 8 million cardholders around the world.  

Reporting to the Global Cards Product Management Head, the SVP Partnerships & Strategic initiatives role is responsible for supporting the definition & implementation of the Commercial Cards partnership strategy, as well as ensuring appropriate awareness of relevant innovations to profitably scale up the Commercial Cards business and leverage joint growth opportunities with other TTS verticals.

The role works closely with Commercial Cards and TTS Regional leaders to oversee the portfolio of strategic relationships (payment networks, fintech’s, specialized providers and cross-bank) from a business development and governance perspective. Abundant interactions with the Global B2B and Global Travel Product Heads, as well as the Account Management and Sales organizations will be required to identify competitive gaps in the TTS Cards offering and establish paths forward to best address them.


  • Support the sourcing and implementation of partnerships & strategic alliances through the creation of a global engagement framework around innovation & capability management for TTS Commercial Cards
  • Assist the development of strategic partnerships across TTS Product verticals and with the payment networks, with a focus on evaluating the cross-application of technology & innovation between Consumer and Commercial Cards
  • Collaborate with TTS Innovation Lab, D10X team, Citi Ventures and other TTS Groups to support the evaluation of new models & opportunities and drive the execution of the Commercial Cards growth strategy
  • Champion the development & implementation of a global governance infrastructure for partnerships, including standardized review, tracking, and reporting mechanisms to facilitate the internal policy, legal and regulatory requirements for the management of external relationships
  • Drive progress and associated activities across the organization (Operations, Technology, Sales, Risk, Account Management…) to achieve strategic growth objectives
  • Work with marketing and PR teams to oversee associated external communications and the assembly of relevant collateral and support documentation
  • Role will have daily interaction with regional (US and non-US) teams.  Some travel should be expected.


  • 8-10+ years of experience, preferably across the banking & payments space
  • Commercial cards and/or Payments & Receivables experience strongly encouraged
  • Strong technology background, able to understand & influence large IT projects and development cycles
  • Track record of successfully executed partnerships and/or strategic technology ventures
  • Results-oriented, critical thinker with strong project management skills (familiarity with main project execution methods expected) and passion for innovation
  • Strong communication & inter-personal skills, able to work effectively in cross-functional and highly matrixed environments


  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • Project Management certifications a plus (Prince2, PMP)
