The Transformation Central PMO Lead will be part of the CAO function and report directly to the Global Head of Transformation Program Management and Execution. 

The Transformation Program Management and Execution team leads a diverse set of activities across the entire Regulatory Transformation Program including (i) managing and tracking progress against plan across multiple programs and in multiple regions and lines of business, (ii) establishing and enforcing standards and protocols for execution consistency and quality, and (iii) acting as a SWAT team to address execution hot-spot areas and critical issues.   

The Transformation Central PMO Lead will manage multiple teams of senior professionals, setting standards for, and execution of, the PMO functions and oversight of the Book of Work within the enterprise project platform.  This role will be the central interaction point with various senior management in the Transformation Office, Regions, Businesses, Functions, Program Groups and Technology to enable the effective execution oversight of the Comprehensive Action Plan. This requires the ability to gain a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different businesses and functions at speed. Excellent communication and analytical skills are required to engage with a wide range of audiences, including the senior executives within Citi and regulators.  A key aspect of the role is the ability to work across the programs often at a fast-moving pace and demonstrate an ability to influence a wide array of stakeholders in identifying, tracking, and in some instances, resolving those issues.


  • Stand up and manage a diverse set of Central PMO activities that is a critical cornerstone in the effective execution management and oversight across six different programs and in multiple regions and lines of business

  • Accountable for developing, overseeing and ensuring consistent adoption of key Central PMO activities and processes across the Comprehensive Action Plan execution model, including but not limited to; progress status, risks and issues management, dependency and critical path management, financial and resource management, change control, and overall execution standards and oversight
  • Play a lead role in evolving/enhancing the Program’s PMO functional capabilities, particularly through an analytical and data driven method while leveraging the Citi PM tool environment
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and organizations (i.e., embedded Business, Function and Program PMO Leads, Cross Enterprise Transformation Leads, Operational Execution Leads)
  • Ensure Program Management Office standards and processes are adopted across the Program, in line with evolving central Citi PM policy and standards, and escalate adherence issues as required
  • Provide a holistic transparent view of progress and risks across the execution of the Action Plan
  • Ensure progress status, issues, and program execution risk disposition is consistently presented and understood for/by each of the respective programs, businesses, and regional stakeholders
  • Manage and continuously enhance the process for the identification of risks which impact program delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are in place and executed when necessary, escalating issues are needed
  • Dive into a wide array of challenging areas and demonstrate an ability to turnaround an issue quickly, working with stakeholders at various levels
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence
  • Provide leadership for the Central PMO team by building and motivating team members to meet goals, objectives and ensure adherence to their roles and responsibilities
  • Set and continually manage PMO expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including key inputs to board level reporting
  • Deliver appropriate and effective communication that is fit for executive and regulatory level reporting
  • Support the Global Head of Transformation Program Management and Execution with the day-to-day management of the overall function.


  • 15+ years of experience, including 10+ years' managerial experience
  • Broad experience as Program or Project Manager, Lead, PMO or department head, managing teams and large, strategic cross-functional projects
  • Specific subject matter expertise driving transformation and program management disciplines
  • Strong understanding of PMO responsibilities and activities
  • Experience within the Financial Services Industry, with a general understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions
  • Management consulting, high-intensity work experience highly desirable
  • Track record of successfully managing large-scale transformation programs, ideally including regulatory remediation programs
  • Track record of managing internal relationships and demonstrated experience in leading sustained change and change management efforts
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to deploy flexible approach to meet the needs of a broad group of diverse stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills and presence; can lead through influence without formal authority
  • Can work effectively in a team-based collaborative leadership model
  • Self-starter who brings high sense of urgency to assignments and goals
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to quickly come up to speed on new topics and engage in the substance of the efforts at hand
  • Well-developed listening skills and a strong ability to engage at the senior management level 
  • Articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large organizations at all levels, including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/requests


  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree; managerial experience
