The Talent Assessment and Development team’s objective is to integrate data into Citi’s talent management practices to develop, engage, and retain top talent across Citi. The team is responsible for designing and delivering on Citi’s Talent Assessment and Development strategy in line with strategic business objectives and regulatory requirements.

The Assessment and Development Lead Advisor will work closely with the Head of Assessment for Talent Development in the design and delivery of assessment and development program solutions that meet and exceed stakeholder expectations.  The Lead Advisor is a highly experienced subject matter expert who effectively consults with, and coaches, senior leaders for Citi, globally. Programs and projects cover all businesses and functions, including risk and control.

This position involves delivering and leading a team of Advisors in the delivery of psychometric assessment feedback, competency and career interviews, development planning, and debrief sessions with the goal of enhancing leadership effectiveness and informing talent decisions. It involves the rollout of large scale assessment programs and driving change in Citi’s talent practices throughout the firm.  Stakeholder management is an important focus of the role in addition to serving as a credible subject matter expert in talent assessment and development.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of practitioners who deliver high-quality work as assessment experts and coaches to support and challenge leaders in leveraging assessment data and insights to enhance management of key leaders across the firm
  • Work closely with senior leaders, talent partners, HR colleagues, and participants to translate assessment insights into actionable plans to support accelerated leadership effectiveness
  • Develop hypotheses about business issues based on sound analysis of assessment data. Leverage insights to define, recommend and /or co-create strategic solutions
  • Lead the delivery of complex projects ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, effective project management, exceptional communication, and effective collaboration between colleagues 
  • Ensure constant focus on outcomes by advancing the team’s success and capabilities through sophisticated relationship management, influence, coaching, problem solving and diplomacy skills
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure project members are sufficiently enabled to meet project timelines and objectives
  • Assess and measure the impact of assessment and development programs on the business.
  • Participate in the design of new programs as needed, viewing business issues from multiple expertise angles and leverage subject matter expertise to offer solutions that integrate across the business
  • Continue to deepen and broaden own consulting skills, business understanding and expertise to enable an expanded viewpoint on the issues impacting Citi. Actively look for opportunities to support the development of colleagues through mentoring, timely feedback and project-based development/coaching
  • Has a deep understanding of best practices, frameworks, delivery tools and processes across the industry
  • Lead in the QA/Peer review process within GDTM

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Masters in I/O Psychology or related field with psychometric education required. Doctorate preferred
  • 10+ years of expertise and experience assessing and developing leaders in large, dynamic, and complex environments.  Financial services industry preferred
  • In-depth understanding of assessment methodology and coaching at senior leadership levels; experience using psychometric assessments to inform recommendations (e.g., experience with assessments of personality traits, potential, and leadership motivation); experience with behavioral interviewing
  • Track record of leading large engagements and growing/expanding relationships with senior level stakeholders
  • An empathetic, naturally curious, digitally minded, and stakeholder-focused individual with unwavering ethics and integrity
  • An exceptional communicator both one-on-one with and within a dynamic team environment
  • An inclusive collaborator with strong influence skills and a demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly and develop and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • A well-developed results-oriented philosophy and work ethic; the ability to “get things done”
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to recommend improvements on existing programs and contribute to the design and methodology of emerging projects
  • Flexible, responsive, and ability to work in a geographically dispersed environment
  • Able to effectively thrive, quickly adapt to change, and navigate within a matrixed corporate environment
