The Fin Solutions Sr. Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

The role will lead and drive improvements to process, controls and infrastructure necessary to support capital planning activities.  Extensive engagement with a broad range of stakeholders and SMEs is required to help evolve processes.   Successful candidates will not only deliver improvements to process efficiencies and controls, but will have the opportunity to contribute to design and delivery of target state infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the design, roll-out and governance of financial solutions, including:
  • Participates in formulating and setting strategic direction for the process, organization and architecture covering Finance across Citi businesses, products, functions and locations
  • Assists in setting business and information architecture standards for Finance
  • Plays a part in settling and operating necessary forums and frameworks to establish and govern policies and starts for global Finance processes
  • Participates in assessing and incorporating changing business, regulatory and market information needs into finance processes and applications
  • Manages complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of the business impact of process design and technical contributions.
  • Accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions.
  • Regularly interacts with peers within the firm and externally, including regulators and professional organizations.
  • Provides advice to internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes and firm or business unit strategy.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry highly preferred
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function.
  • Requires communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide and influence others.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
  • In depth knowledge of banking products / systems highly preferred.
  • Experience in project management, process re-engineering and change management.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft applications – particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Regulatory Capital or Capital Planning is preferred

Education:

  • Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree

  • Ability to re-engineer complex processes and procedures, with appropriate controls.

  • Exceptional oral communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple priorities and tasks; exhibits strong people and influencing skills.
  • Able to drive consensus and develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders to drive goals.
  • Enjoys variability and change in work and types of projects in a range of quantitative and non-quantitative areas. A desire to expand knowledge of and continue to transform and make large improvements
  • Strong attention to detail, willingness to "roll up sleeves" and produce polished, high quality, accurate product; tireless work ethic, can-do drive to finish and an ability to work well under pressure.
  • Independently able to plan, detail and drive projects, navigate organizations and streamline work.
  • Organizational savviness with ability to expand network across functions and various levels of seniority to get tasks accomplished in a collaborative way and achieve desired results.
