Position Objective (what is the main function of the job and reporting line):
Spring by Citi is a new business unit being launched within Citi’s Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) division, a business that processes over $4 trillion worth of payments daily. With banking licenses in over 90 countries and the industry’s largest proprietary network, TTS continues to lead the way in offering the industry's most comprehensive range of digitally enabled treasury, trade, and liquidity management solutions.
Our strategic initiatives disrupt the status-quo by innovating new businesses that unlock the power of TTS for our clients. Spring by Citi helps elevate our market leading cash management business by offering a holistic banking proposition to our clients that covers not only global pay-outs but collections from their consumers across the globe.
Spring by Citi is a cutting edge proposition that aims to enable digital commerce for our institutional clients across the globe through a secure online payment gateway that provides access to relevant payment options, including cards, eWallets and bank transfers. The solution supports the end-to-end transaction lifecycle, including embedded FX, enhanced reconciliation and reporting. Our goal is simple: help customer-centric institutions build seamless experiences that increase sales conversion while mitigating risk.
With the payments landscape increasing in complexity, Spring by Citi will leverage the market leading proprietary network of TTS to provide globally consistent solutions in a space that is historically nuanced and complicated across markets. This unique proposition brings together the varying objectives of corporate treasury, payments and the business, delivering value to each part of our client’s organization. Spring by Citi will be integrated with wider cash management needs, giving clients single window access to a globally consistent proposition so they can focus on growing their business while lowering costs.
As a member of the Global Client Solution and Business Development Team for Spring by Citi, you will explore complex client needs, design tailored solutions and create value for Citi’s globally diverse institutional client base. You will play an active role in a new team that will collaborate across the organization to lead client discussions, bring solutions to life and shape global product strategy. You will be a part of a team that will be responsible for designing frictionless payment experiences for consumers, so our merchants can optimize their business operations and drive growth.
Key Responsibilities (describe the main activities the jobholder will perform):
In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Leading discussions with prospective clients, serving as the internal and external expert
- Leading client discovery, solutioning, onboarding, integration, and optimization activities
- Empathizing with merchant needs and understanding eCommerce buying behavior
- Collaborating with sales, marketing, product, implementations and other partners to win and solution deals
- Communicating client feedback to shape product strategy and roadmap

Knowledge Experience (what knowledge/experience of the role or the industry does the individual need, e.g. relevant work experience, industry and/or product knowledge):
- 3-5 years work experience in consumer payments industry, with understanding of payment gateway technology, APIs, Card Acquiring, eWallets, the global payments landscape and the surrounding ecosystems
- Experience and understanding of merchant’s current and evolving consumer payment needs
- Appreciation and understanding of evolving consumer payments landscape
- Payments expertise with ability to design innovative and tailored solutions for clients’ complex consumer payments needs
- Understanding of payments risk dynamics and compliance risk management globally
Skills (what specific technical skills does the individual need and at what level, e.g. specific IT/spreadsheet/analytical/modeling skills)
- Precise articulation of merchant needs with a talent for communicating complex ideas and concepts in a concise manner
- Understanding of emerging payments trends, payments landscape and terminology
- Understanding of payments ecosystem and empathy for consumer experience
- Extreme attention to detail and interest in operating in a multifaceted, fast-paced environment
