SMALL BUSINESS DEPOSIT NEW PRODUCT CAPABILITES MANAGER (C13)

Small Business has been identified as a key growth area for the consumer bank over the next several years.  As the VP of New Deposit Product Capabilities Development, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving transformation of the Small Business deposit technology platform.  This VP will partner cross-functionally with product management, technology, distribution, servicing and digital partners to enable best-in-class deposit products, features and customer experience from account opening through customer digital servicing.  The successful candidate will lead the platform development from the business side.  This is not a technology role, but it will require experience in leading large-scale technology projects, and translating business and customer needs into actionable requirements to meet both existing and emerging business needs.  If you are excited about building the capabilities to drive Citi’s growth in the small business market, can innovate for the future and are passionate about making an impact on small businesses, you are encouraged to apply.  

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transformation of Small Business Deposit products to new technology platform ensuring both near and long-term business priorities are appropriately addressed in business requirements and user stories.
  • Work with deposit product and program managers to understand customer needs to innovate and design platform capabilities and features that meet those needs. 
  • Identify gaps in current capabilities that limit opportunities for growth and develop business cases in support of initiatives for addressing those gaps.
  • Partner with product managers, technology and distribution partners in optimizing product processor build and managing subsequent conversions of customer accounts to new platform
  • Assess high priority capability requirements and prioritize phased delivery of features.
  • Partner with Project Management Office to run project team meetings, manage project plans, ensure progress against key milestones and raise issues for leadership review when appropriate.
  • Lead development initiatives to build new capabilities ensuring product line strategies are not hampered by technology, process or procedure limitations. 
  • Present product initiatives to Product Governance Committees (senior management) to gain approval for concept and launch
  • Manage audit resolutions and corrective action plans where necessary to drive operational excellence (regulatory compliance, operational risk management, etc.).
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Exceptional project management skills with demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams with multiple stakeholders
  • Business side expertise with high degree of technical acumen; proven ability to lead business-driven technology initiatives
  • Experience with banking products; small business deposit product experience a plus
  • Intellectual agility. High degree of comfort with ambiguity.  Innovative thinker with the ability to challenge the status quo and devise creative solutions to solve problems and overcome hurdles. 
  • Ability to work unsupervised, handle multiple, competing objectives and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Demonstrated analytical and influencing skills
  • Working knowledge of industry practices and standards
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
