The Head of Data Privacy and Records Management will report to the Global Head of Data Governance for Services. This role will require collaboration with the Enterprise Data Office to ensure Services’ alignment with enterprise initiatives and work efforts. Influence enterprise policy and standards to ensure they incorporate Services’ specific business requirements. Assess global regulations implication to Services, to set procedures and controls to ensure data management compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a vision and strategy for implementing systematic controls and intuitive workflows to enforce Privacy and Records Management across the Services Data Ecosystems
  • Central point of contact accountable for ensuring the Services Business is complying with the various policies that cover Data Privacy and Records Management across all geographic regions
  • Engages and coordinates with key stakeholders, RMOs (Records Management Officers), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Data Owners, Data Stewards, Technology Owners, and the Services Data Lead
  • Establishes the required governance structures within Services, including updates to senior leadership, to enforce the Data Privacy and Records Management policies and standards
  • Works with Product and Technology to find innovative ways to integrate Privacy controls and Data Security Access controls into Services’ Self-Service technologies
  • Works with Product and Technology to find innovative ways to integrate Data Records Management procedures and controls into Services’ Self-Service technologies
  • Drive the development of a Services Metrics and Reporting function to track overall Data Privacy and Records Management adherence to procedures and SLAs with monitoring of key data activities
  • Partners with the functions, lines of business and regions to define the prioritized scope for completing Privacy and Records Management outstanding items
  • Develop medium- to long-term plans and execute functional Data Privacy, Security and Records Management strategies

Qualifications

  • 10+ years relevant experience in in Banking, Financial Services
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
  • Experience with Data Privacy regulations (California Consumer Privacy Act, Office of Privacy Commissioner of Canada – PIPEDA, European Union – General Data Protection Regulation, etc.
  • Experience enforcing data regulations through security access and data protection, while also enforcing Privacy Opt-Out and other client elections
  • Executing a systematic data records management process; data destruction, data obfuscation, data retention like Legal Holds, etc.
  • Strong ability to perform extensive strategic leadership in delivering business value through vision, governance, and executive management
  • Strategic mindset, with ability to foresee future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies
  • Manage through ambiguity by making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
  • Communicates effectively; develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Experience creating and executing against frameworks that improve the quality and value of data to meet regulatory commitments and enhance risk management
  • Experience leveraging glossary, lineage, and data quality tools to drive governance
  • Experience creating and being a champion for a positive risk culture that supports sustainable business growth through transparent engagement, a partnership approach, and a no-tolerance approach for behavior that exposes the organization to an inappropriate amount of risk
  • Able to anticipate and balance needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional leadership skills to build a culture of accountability, collaboration and teamwork across the organization

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$200,000.00 - $300,000.00
