Role Description:

Citi Learning works to drive business performance by connecting employees with relevant and innovative learning experiences when and where they need them. Global Risk L&D manages the learning strategy overall for the Global Risk Management Organization and Risk Training for the entire enterprise. 

The Senior Learning Advisor for Risk Professional Development is focused on ensuring that all Independent Risk Management professionals have the key professional skills required to meet their goals and deliver on Risk strategy.  The Senior Learning Advisor for Risk Professional Development will work with the Head of Risk L&D and senior stakeholders to design the overall Risk Professional Skill learning strategy for the Independent Risk Management Organization.  The Senior Learning Advisor will oversee a small team of direct reports and lead the design, delivery, facilitation, and project management of new and existing professional skill programs. 

General Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Head of Risk L&D and senior stakeholders, design Risk’s Professional and Leadership Skill learning strategy
  • Work with senior stakeholders in the Independent Risk Management Organization to ensure that learning solutions / programs support Independent Risk’s strategy
  • Conduct analysis of Risk Professional Skill gaps and strategize on the appropriate learning solutions to meet organizational needs and impact positive change
  • Keep apprised of newest available learning modalities and solution possibilities and incorporate into learning programs, driving innovation and ensuring maximum engagement and learning effectiveness
  • Lead the project management of multiple new Professional Development programs with vendors or internal instructional designers, ensuring successful and on-time delivery
  • Lead and manage a small Risk Professional Skills training team and partner with internal or external instructional designers and internal operations to develop and execute programs
  • Develop and implement consistent methods and metrics to measure the effectiveness of learning programs and proactively execute improvements as needed, maintaining a best-in-class curriculum
  • Create engaging communications / materials to promote key programs and initiatives
  • Partner with Citi’s central Leadership Development team to promote Leadership Skill training in Risk and influence central Leadership Development strategy to meet Risk’s needs
  • Partner on special projects as needed for Risk L&D and Citi Learning.

Key Competencies:

  • Experience in driving and executing large-scale, multi-stream, global learning and change programs
  • Proven ability to align strategic needs with training programs and organizational development efforts
  • Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders globally, at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills and strong executive presence; experience implementing campaigns and written materials that engage, interest and drive action
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Expertise in scope, instructional design, and facilitation of best-in-class Professional Development programs across various formats (instructor led trainings, virtual instructor led trainings, web-based trainings, videos)
  • Influential and passionate about Learning and Professional Development with a keen interest and strong track record of implementing innovative learning techniques and modalities
  • Highly adaptable to changing priorities and ambiguity; able to motivate others through significant change; proven ability to overcome barriers challenges and drive toward execution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, global, and matrixed environment; excellent organizational, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Innovative and keen to try new ways of doing things and ability to motivate others to do so as well
  • Strong leadership and people management skills; inclusive leader who values creativity and diverse perspectives


  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred. Preferred areas of study include Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in Learning and Development / Professional Development
  • Professional / Leadership Development accreditations would be helpful
