Citi’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function is responsible to align and oversee risk management across the organization and drives execution of enterprise program.  ERM operating model ensures consistent identification, measurement, monitoring, control and reporting of risk across individual risk categories and in aggregate. One of the foundational responsibilities of the Enterprise Risk Management function include design and oversight of Citi’s Risk Taxonomy.   

The Risk Policy Senior Officer II , ERM will play a leadership role in Risk Taxonomy design enhancements and implementation, including stakeholders’ engagement, to drive best in class approach to risk taxonomy structure, governance and its integration within day-to-day risk management processes across the firm.    

Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain Enterprise Risk Taxonomy framework requirements
  • Engage internal stakeholders for ongoing enhancements to the framework and implementation efforts
  • Lead Risk Taxonomy reviews and updates, in collaboration with front line and independent risk subject matter experts, to ensure Risk Taxonomy is fit for purpose and effective in terms of firm’s risk profile and linkages to risk management lifecycle
  • Provide credible challenge to the changes proposed and facilitate review and approval by the relevant approval authorities 
  • Ongoing review and advisory for use of risk taxonomy and expected alignment to other taxonomies within the firm
  • Opine on appropriate tools to monitor Citi’s risk profile and control effectiveness through taxonomy lens
  • Identify opportunities to add value beyond the scope of formal projects and perform other duties and functions as assigned.
  • Contribute to continuous team improvement and management
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years’ experience in Financial Services/Risk management
  • Proven strategic thinking and analytic skills coupled with financial acumen. Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency
  • Able to translate data and metrics from across different constituencies in order to create clear and concise executive presentation materials.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented. Able to create support across a wide range of stakeholders through well-developed interpersonal and influencing capabilities.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communications skills. Able to work through a large, complex matrix organization; demonstrates a flexible approach and resilience to setbacks.
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries; willing to break down business and/or functional silos to optimize results.
  • Franchise player; broad, critical thinker, self-motivated; comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Organizationally savvy; understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret. Pragmatic problem solver, forward thinker with independence of thought.
  • Advanced Leadership skills Operates as a leader, with an understanding and appreciation for diverse backgrounds.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
