Private Bank - Direct Private Investments - Analyst

The Direct Private Investments (“DPI”) Analyst helps support DPI’s efforts to originate, evaluate, approve, and distribute private direct and co-investment opportunities for Family Offices and other sophisticated and suitable CPB clients around the globe. The role particularly focuses on supporting the CPB-BCMA partnership, including tracking, distribution and other administrative tasks for referral activities between BCMA and CPB. The candidate must have strong communication and diplomacy skills in order to coordinate, guide, and converse with individuals of all levels across CPB and BCMA.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the growth of CPB’s Direct Private Investing business with an emphasis on the  CPB-BCMA partnership
  • Work closely with key partners, including the Business Development Group (“BDG”),  industry coverage groups, and product teams in BCMA, and CPB teams such as Solutions Sales (“Solutions”) and the Private Capital Group (“PCG”)
  • Help manage the appropriate processes for every private transaction sourced from BCMA, as determined by the product and distribution type
  • Responsible for tracking pipeline of BCMA sourced referral transactions
  • Assist in conducting review of transaction, including creation of internal and external documents (i.e. diligence checklists, transaction summary, talking points, etc.)
  • Coordinate prospective client outreach and track client engagement as related to referral transactions, including onboarding, documentation, and communication with BDG, PCG, Solutions, BCMA and the Issuer
  • Assist in closing, funding, and post close processes on ad hoc basis
  • As this role crosses over lines of business between BCMA and CPB, both product and coverage, it is critical to build strong partnerships and a team based approach
  • Work closely with Control partners in BCMA and CPB to ensure the opportunities meet all global regulatory, legal and compliance standards as well as ensure that the framework and operation of the DPI efforts are done in strict adherence to Citi’s standards more broadly

Role Requirements:

  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines successfully, including the maturity to perform well under pressure and successfully manage several projects at a time
  • Strong communication (written + verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity origination or similar roles
  • Strong presentation, analytical, and  problem solving skills, including Excel and PowerPoint skills with familiarity of working with large amounts of data
  • Displays initiative, flexibility, and independence
  • Judgment and discretion in working with highly confidential information
  • Bachelor’s/University degree required
