Responsibilities
This is a new position for the role of Software Development Coach for the Markets Architecture Technology Team. The successful candidate will work within a global team of 4 with the rest of the coaching team to develop bespoke training materials and sessions to help develop the skills of our technology workforce, expanding their knowledge of development techniques, Java, testing and more. Familiarity with other languages will be advantageous.
It is anticipated that coaching will be delivered in a variety of forms, based upon the needs of your colleagues, including remote learning, classroom based and online. The successful candidate will work as part of a global team developing resources that can be used by all levels of learners.

The Software Development Coach is responsible for using group or individual training to transform coding quality, improve time to production efficiency and to enable and promote the move to modern best practice.
Responsibilities:
- Use knowledge and experience to train new or experienced developers, not only in code but in best practices and in use of the Citi Software Development pipelines.
- Ability to create lesson plans and materials suitable to candidates
- Ability to organise and schedule their own training timetable
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to people of different cultures and languages
- Capable of running 1:1 sessions or workshops with up to 8 people
- Act as an SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
Qualifications:
- 10 years + of SDLC experience in any language. Java, or similar language desirable
- Experience and solid understanding of agile methodologies
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills
- Strong experience in Test Driven Development
- Effective written and verbal communications including ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-IT staff, or people with different can understand.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy
- Effectively share information with other team members and with other technology teams
- Ability to plan and organize workload
- Must be flexible and a team player
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a development project
- Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
