The Marketing Product Intermediate Analyst is responsible for the development of product plans, strategies and tactics in coordination with the Life Insurance and Annuity Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position.  This position reports into the Senior Vice President of product Management, and will be primarily engaged with performing core insurance and annuity operational functions.  As part of the transformation of the Insurance and Annuity platform, the Analyst will lead process re-engineering across the insurance and annuity account opening process. 

The Marketing Product Intermediate Analyst will be tasked to look for opportunities to simplify the process, reduce paperwork, improve quality and implement digital solutions as the business continues to build-out its life insurance and annuity capabilities.  This role will also serve as the Operations Relationship Manager for key third party insurance carrier and Brokerage General Agency relationships, managing the day to day issues and resolutions on a timely basis.  This role works closely with Legal, Risk, Compliance and the Principal Review team to ensure that the service and support provided comply with all Citi and Regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product Marketing Management in monitoring strategic marketing programs, strategic program roadmaps, program development, program/product launches, and program marketing to gain maximum benefit from each program/product and deliver on client value propositions
  • Support new Insurance and Annuity product and carrier launches from Operational perspective
  • Ensure operational end to end processes are properly implemented and maintained throughout product lifecycle
  • Manage day to day relationships with Licensing, Central Review Unit, Middle Office Operations, and serve as point of contact for escalation
  • Responsible for working with Legal, Risk and Compliance to implement and manage ongoing requirements for internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with field and internal partners to identify opportunities for process re-engineering
  • Utilize specialty knowledge to review, analyze, and develop beyond existing solutions
  • Contribute to day-to-day Life and Annuity Operations including program delivery, client experience, and client communications strategy, as well as provide input into project plans
  • Partner with Product Managers in managing all aspects of product life cycle management including market demands, technology trends, and competitive field
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
  • Responsibilities may also include Operational oversight and management for 529 Plans

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Required Licensing/Registration: Series 7, Series 63
  • Working knowledge of product management, program management, and marketing
  • Working knowledge of the business
  • Ability to collaborate especially with internal/external partners on delivery of client-facing solutions
  • Ability to apply client mindset to shape solutions and approach
  • Ability to partner with and influence cross functional team to deliver client needs
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Business acumen with ability to review alternate courses of action and comprehend trade off decisions

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
