IPB U.S. Business Development Officer

The International Personal Bank U.S. (IPB U.S.) Global Executive Banking (GEB) Business Development Officer (BDO) is a seasoned professional with a strong background in Business-to-Business (B2B) sales. The BDO applies in-depth market knowledge for prospecting, developing and acquiring new corporate clients and client referrals. The BDO applies extensive knowledge of the global mobility/relocation industry to gain understanding on how companies and their employees interact with the ever-changing needs of an expatriate employee and his/her family. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required to be able to articulate clearly and convincingly the GEB value proposition product and services capabilities and benefits to the Corporate Client and its employees. The BDO assesses market opportunities, determines market niches and acquires new corporate clients from prospecting to onboarding while caring and maintaining relationships with existing Corporate clients

  • Assumes primary responsibility in acquiring and onboarding new Corporate Clientss by creating partnerships with key decision makers while supporting them in understanding the GEB available referral programs “Employee paid” and “Corporate paid”
  • Develop, establish, and cement relationships with internal clients such as ICG Market Heads and Relationships Managers. Develop and maintain a new Corporate client pipeline
  • Act as a GEB value proposition evangelist to ICG, promoting IPB U.S. product and services capabilities  
  • Build a deep understanding of the banking conduct rules (Offshore Wealth Services - OWS) restricted/non presence countries (NPC) and Country Activity Notice (CAN) to advise Corporate clients
  • Conduct ongoing market intelligence as the first line of defense to escalate enhancements to the GEB value proposition
  • Become a subject matter expert on the mobility/relocation industry and trends, participate in mobility/relocation forums, symposiums and venues to keep a pulse on industry developments and to be closer to existing and new clients
  • Introduce the Corporate client key decision makers to the GEB Corporate Relationship Managers (CRMs) and build the pipelines between the client and the support that the CRMs bring to the relationship
  • Work closely with CRMs to obtain all Know Your Customer / AML / Patriot Act and related account opening documentation
  • Lead projects related to the acquisition of new Corporate clients by driving them from concept to execution, going through socialization and forums for necessary approvals
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience
  • Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese desirable
  • Technical skills: thorough knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; knowledge of Microsoft Access helpful, but not essential
  • Project management skills: candidate must be highly organized and efficient; ability to effectively multi-task and adhere to daily time sensitive deadlines is critical
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree a plus
